Dude, you made other points too. Not necessary to be so pedantic. But it’s your thread, so have at it. I agree that settings should stick and that Ford sucks with software design especially compared to my Teslas with respect to these issues. Their entire OTA update regime is also a mess, as is their module-based systems orientation. That’s a legacy far predating the Lightning and I suspect has a lot to do with this specific issue. Tesla replaces an entire image, while Ford has an old school approach that often misses elements that are updated in other modules, or resets things that were working already. The FDRS threads are enlightening and scary in this respect. Our problem is hardware and firmware that’s tied to that legacy approach, and the fact that Ford know this, so is about to introduce an entirely new operating system, interface, and approach to OTA, likely means orphaning those of us on Sync 4 and derivatives.Dave the point of this thread is the software issue that we can’t rely on the settings to perform as advertised, not the esoteric vagaries of phantom battery capacity. I’m not interested in your interpretation of the battery capacity or what you deem safe and not having a cumulative, deleterious effect on battery life.
I want the system to stop charging when I say, per the recommendation, period. I want to be able to trust that SOMETHING works as advertised.
That. Is. The. Point. Of. This. Thread.
