Hello,

I am very interested in this mod. I am newbie in this stuff and wanted to clarify. All I need is the part wire assembly, run it and use forscan to input the setting that’s all? I do not know what flashing bcm mean.

Thank you
It's a special, more involved process with FORScan, specifically termed MFU(Module Firmware Update). You have to purchase an extended license from FORScan. Don't fear though, you can get the physical part installed, and cut your teeth on FORScan with modifying the BCM configuration. You can get help here or from someone in your local area to upgrade your BCM firmware when you get to that point. You can also test your sensor and installation without the firmware upgrade by using the scanner feature in FORScan and looking at the capacitive buttons on the door handles. Once you have that working it's just a quick matter of upgrading your firmware.

Has anyone confirmed, yet, that PL3Z-14631-G works for the door harness? Seems like it should, but the various Ford parts websites are not great.

Once I get confirmation on that, I am going to try with the Bronco handle.

I just went by my local dealer at lunch and confirmed that the driver door wiring harness part # has switched to:
PL3Z-14631-G
https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/e...rs/wire-jumper-left-front-center-p-pl3z14631g

I also ordered my stock black ABS door handle so I can write a CNC program to route the lock button hole for a friend and others here if they want to exchange it for a core, that part # is:
ML3Z-1522405-AA
https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/body/doors/exterior-door-handle-left-front-p-ml3z1522405aa

The pre-primed replacement door handle that is needed for this project is still: ML3Z-1522405-DCPTM and includes the passive button/antenna module.

Just thought I'd mention that my 2023 Pro has the required wiring and I believe early on in the thread somebody said their 2022 Pro has the required wiring as well. So, I'd bet that means every build does.

Also, I tried to pop loose that door jamb connected with a screwdriver and all that I accomplished is scratching the paint. I think it's impossible to get the back loose without a pick with an angle on it. Even with a right angle pick (I bought a set at Lowes), it took a little time.

Zach, I'll definitely take you up on that CNC'd handle offer. Like you, I much prefer the black textured handle.

Yes, my 22 Pro has it. I was able to eventually force it out after releasing the top, bottom and inside/front tab. It’s wasn’t easy and smashed one of my fingers, but it will heal before parts arrive and I install it.

"It will heal before the parts arrive", that's some upgrade spirit right there,, LOL

So you only needed the handle and to do the forscan changes? Just want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding

Thank you. I may need to wait and do some more YouTube or research before feeling comfortable doing this firmware upgrade.

If anyone in NJ who know how to do this please let me know. I’ll pay for help with the firmware and forscan.

If there was a single feature I could add to my 2023 Pro, it would be passive entry. I had it on my previous vehicle and I miss it every time I walk up to my Lightning in a parking lot. I will seriously need to think about this hack...

2) Did you look into whether you could use a Bronco handle, which I believe has a matte black intelligent access variant? I think it is M2DZ-7822405-CB.
Anyone verify whether or not the Bronco handle will work?

You still need the wiring harness too. I was only confirming the needed wiring is present at the connector in the door jamb on a 2023 Pro. The new wiring harness would plug into this connector.

Thank you for putting this together! I just ordered the parts and am very excited to have these features on my XLT.
