I'm suddenly unable to check my vehicle status on the "vehicleordertracking" site. It says, "We're sorry. We are unable to process this Order. Please enter a valid Ford Order/VIN." My window sticker still exists, and my order number hasn't changed... maybe I finally hit my tracking limit

It seems Ford is doing all day maintenance on the tracking database, hopefully when they are done some anomalies are resolved and we're back to more accurate & regular build updates.

Still waiting on my shipped status.

This evening while clearing out my typical load of junk email I noticed an email from my local Ford dealer advertising over $10K off F150s. So I had a look. Lo and behold, my truck is listed as “in stock” (it’s my VIN) boasting a sale price, and a dealership stock number.

My guess is it’s not really at the dealership yet and it’s just their local web person scrolling through the inbound stock and dressing up their web page. I clicked on a button labeled “get your best price” and filled out a short contact form that listed the VIN with my name, phone and email. I expect in the morning I’ll get a call and/or email asking me to come in for a chat and test drive. I doubt they will connect the dots with my name being associated with an order.

I also doubt I will be able to resist the urge to do a drive by the dealership in the morning just to make sure.

Ha!

I ordered the SR lariat back in April (based on a reservation I made in OCT. 2021). The shell game that Ford played with the prices while I waited for a build date brought the ER lariat into the sub-$80k range needed for the federal tax rebate, and I developed some buyers regret that I didn't order the ER battery model.

Fast forward many months and my order is still in a parking lot in Dearborn or some such, and I have started searching for dealer ER-Lariats that I could live with in lieu of my ordered SR vehicle. My assigned dealership (henceforth: "Dealer A") hasn't emailed or phoned me about my order in the 6 months since it was placed, and they didn't have any lightnings at all on the lot. But another nearby dealer ("Dealer B") has several coming in soon. At least one is currently unspoken for.

If I were to jump on this ER Lariat, should Dealer B account for my $100 reservation deposit and the $500 order deposit? Or am I likely to lose that $600.

looking forward to the follow up on how this goes! If it helps, I’m also still “in production” :/

it’s completely the dealer’s discretion to refund the deposit. Most are cool with refunding, there’s been a few stories where they’ve been…not as cool.
