Sadly, yesterday evening I had a minor collision in my '22 Lariat ER. Thank goodness no injuries, both vehicles were driveable, and the contents of the fully enclosed trailer that got a whack from the headlight area of my truck were undamaged as well - as was the F350 towing it.
It was an extremely slow-speed collision. My headlight and the area of the bumper directly below hit the frame on one side of the trailer's double doors, and it looks like the built-in lightbar in the frunk hood contacted the trailer's door locking hardware. The fender and adjacent body panels seem fine, but the headlight is definitely toast.
As always with fender benders it looks like I will certainly need a new bumper cover, and assuming the frunk lid/grille plastics and lights are inseparable from the metal "hood", I think I will probably need a new frunk lid assembly. The frunk functions 100% normally but looking at how it's all put together, this seems likely. You can see in the attached photo there's some scraping on the hood directly adjacent to the lightbar, and the corner of the metal is pushed in just a little - the big discoloration shown in the photo is actually just roughened/scratched paint; still, I bet the whole thing gets swapped. The adjacent fender area isn't even scratched - the "discoloration" there is actually a reflection of something out of frame. Lucky, really, even though this will surely cost some $.
Though the headlight housing and lens broke into 20+ pieces, the entire light assembly inside still functions. Once I taped it up well, masking out the broken plastic on the side, even the high-low beam pattern and focus seem totally normal. Car rolls down the road straight and true, even that stupid air dam still works, as does Blue Cruise.
My worry is that every part that looks to need replacement looks like it's specific to the Lightning Lariat ER (or possibly Platinum - does the Platinum use the same lightbar/frunk hood?). How bad is it likely to be waiting for parts? My trusted local dealership closed their body shop a few years ago as did most others and I don't trust the ones that still do this in-house, so I'll be using an independent shop; I found one with good reviews that is Ford, MB, and Tesla certified which looks like a decent bet if they can fit me in. But I generally don't trust body shop guesses as to when they will get parts from manufacturers...
