After Market Front "Grill" Replacement

Does anyone know of an after market front "grill" replacement. I love my Lariat, but I hate the cheap look of the "grill". (I"m not sure what else to call it but a 'grill', even though it is not one!)

Yeah, even the standard Pro grille looks better to me than the Lariat.

I agree, the stock Lariat grille looks "unfinished" ... like it has just been primed and they stopped there. So, I pulled the grille and went to my paint booth and got brave to make the transition. The Atlas Blue and Gloss Black now really ties in with the rest of the truck and it looks "finished". FYI, it was no hard to pull the grille.

I wish my Atlas Blue Lariat looked like that! The look really fixes the awkward look of the light bar.

Does it just clip on? I want to pull and paint mine too, but I hear it’s like $1000 bucks for a replacement so want to avoid breaking it. Did you start disassembly in the frunk or just pry around the edges? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Not hard to do. Open frank and the remove two trim pieces from behind the grille ... there are about 5 flat clips on each trim piece. Then that will expose some bolts that actually mount the grille. When it comes loose, you have to unclip the electrical connector for the close frank button and the washer hose that connects to the Ford emblem.

All that said there is a good video out there for replacing the Ford emblem with the lighted one ... the grille removal steps are the same. Once you have done it, you will see it is actually pretty easy. Good luck and share some pictures when you are done.

My Lariat is also Atlas Blue. I would just like the entire grill to be Atlas Blue. Are there any sensors behind the grill that might no longer work if I paint the grill?

Paint shouldn’t be an issue. There’s a thread somewhere showing Line-X applied to the grille.
