I have a 2024 Ford lightning with 630 Miles got the Orange wrench Dealership said it's a bad battery module they say it will take five to 10 days to get one, then two days to install How common is this ? On this forum There seems to be a lot of these Types of failures​

Its so weird that Ford is still dealing with that problem. I just took my truck in today for software issues and he mentioned possibly replacing the module. Im assuming its a different one but still. geez, what the hell.

Wow, 835 incidents of battery failure?! That is not a good look for Ford!

after a 10 day got the modual in good news bad news it was bad so had to reorder 10 more dys

This I believe is the first reported incident that a module was sent out to a dealer that was "bad".

There have been many excuses given at dealers explaining why the job is taking a LONG time; like "they shipped the wrong tool", "they didn't send the heat caulking", ...

Some of these explanations MAY be true ... I hope they can get you the truck soon.

I really hope Ford isn't facing another rash of battery issues.

You would think these are checked before leaving the assembly plant!

I vote, lame time stretching excuse, reality is that they are behind on projects and the Lighting was pushed aside, JMHO.

i should add that they say the module was damaged in shipping

In your opinion, have the module failures mainly been 2022s? Ive seen 23/24 MY trucks on your list but cant really sort/filter on mobile.

I'm not looking to hijack this post, but it got me to thinking. My 22 has 67k on it and I have another 33k left on my extended warranty. I'd like to drive it until the wheels fall off, but I'm curious what it would cost me to replace a battery module out of warranty? Has anyone run into this situation yet? Highly unlikely I know since we are all probably still under the original or extended warranty. Thanks.

Can’t say with certainty, but I can say the cost that was published two years ago has come down considerably.

That number was like $20k. I betting (speculating) it would be closer to $10-$15k today.

There's a post somewhere that showed the invoice cost for the various sizes of battery modules, but I can't seem to find it now. I *think* it was around $3500, then add in labor. I agree that those costs ought to drop in the coming years.
