If it is available in the "easy" mode, go to the BCM module in the easy option, and use the search box on the top of the forscan window (search for "window") and see what pops up, or scroll through the available easy settings. If it's available, it'll be in there.

Or try the "difficult" way and make a backup of current configuration and change the lines in the "As-Built" section according to post #1.
Thanks all

The "hard" way shows 8 lines needs changing, so there will need to be 8 easy modes. For example, there will be 3 in BCM, 2 each in both DDM and PDM and one APIM.

See this post.

I was using that post actually. In BCM it’s not clear which 3 need to be changed. It’s pretty obvious with the other modules. I’ll just do it in “As Built”. NBD. 🙏

Maybe some day, someone (not me) will come up with a true easy mode that has one checkbox that handles all the discrete modules.

If you’re curious after you do As-Built, you can go back to easy mode and see what changed. From what I’ve noticed, they are linked so changing a value with one method gets reflected in the other method. If you do let me know and I’ll update post 1 with an easy mode option.

AFAIK, the "Easy Mode" is just a script that captures the discrete steps of the "Hard Mode".

In other words, the primary value of ForScan programmers' work is reverse-decoding the discrete settings in each separate module, and in some cases reverse-decoding the dependencies between several modules to modify the single or multi-module technical function... this results in the "Hard Mode" line-by-line parameter change instructions, and is the true value of ForScan for users like us.

The next, more easy-to-do but less critical programming action is to write a script, aka. "Easy Mode" which captures these discrete line changes into one-click execution of the desired modification.

In my opinion, this is why there are far more Hard Mode modifications available than Easy Mode modifications. Script generation for Easy Mode must sequentially follow the reverse-engineering discoveries that result in Hard Mode mods, and frankly seems less important for ForScan's value-based success in the past 10+ years.

I hope my write-up here makes sense and can be a useful way to see the programming effort that we all find beneficial.

For anyone curious about Global Windows without “As Built”, I went ahead and did a quick pic before and after on the BCM. Just three quick changes from “Disabled” for my truck. The other 3 modules are obvious as they just say “Global Windows” Up and Down.

Your radio is off in the second picture. Turn on some music and then try. The sound menu is unavailable when there is no audio playing. Not a Forscan thing.

Has anyone found a way to over ride the nav settings to enter address and stuff while driving?

So after doing some forscan changes my truck seems to not charge past 88% or briefly shows 100% and immediately drops to 88% when I start driving. I did glare free headlights, silent mode and power down timer changes. I've been trying to charge to 100% and get charge complete notifications in fordpass earlier than expected. I suspect something I changed in forscan caused this odd behavior. Anyone experience a similar issue? Also is silent mode supposed to disable the exterior lighting when you open the doors, I tried it this morning and noticed my exterior lighting still came on with an open door. I should be able to change things back I made back up logs. Hopefully I can figure out what's going on...

Yes. Silent mode is like a Dark mode. No exterior or interior light come on when opening the door.

It does create a toggle in the Sync menu so you can turn on/off as needed. Double check to make sure that option is there and it is turned On.

I have the toggle for silent mode in the sync settings but I'm not sure if it's actually working. I was hoping it would disable all the exterior lighting for when I take the truck to my local drive inn movies in the summer.

Do you have the Welcome Lighting turned on?

Not sure which one takes priority…Welcome or Silent.

Note that silent mode is only for when the vehicle is off. You can open/close doors and lock/unlock them without lights or horn honks. If you turn the truck on to listen to the drive-in radio that mode goes away.

The hex display in forscan may be convenient, but is very misleading. Either the UI should be much smarter about the data being changed or it should be done in binary. In this day and age why data structures like this exist are beyond imagination.
Exactly, they should be using JSON or XML. It is crazy to use such a cryptic method.
