I simply want to modify the header to indicate that it's ~likely~ to be in EAP phase, not banning or deleting the conversation, I too have given up suppressing these types of threads, but would REALLY like to minimize the whining that's bound to happen.

BTW, another recent thread indicates the survey email server has suddenly come to life and folks are being flooded with stale communications.

I belive our mentality is in lock step... any post should be 100% in the bounds of what we are allowed to share as EAP before we post. However if there are no specific guardrails, then I share, because that is why am on this forum... To both absorb and share information. If you believe you can read Fords tea leaves and this is EAP only then you can tag as you see fit. From my standpoint, I have seen very little ability to delineate.

P.S. I'm well aware of the onslaught of rogue EAP emails today, I got many!

If anyone gets a notification that it’s installed in the app or in the truck, please say so. I found it very odd and not a good thing, but I did not receive a notification in either... our lives will be worse if we no longer even get a basic poke once we receive a haphazardly timed update.

How can you find this info using Car Scanner? Do I have to install Forscan Lite? Cheers

To see the software version of any module in Car Scanner, click on ECU Identifiers.

It will show a list of modules to interrogate. I usually go with the default list - but I think that excludes a few modules we really do have. It takes a while for the app to query them all and display the results. When finished, it displays the results. At the bottom of the screen is an Export button. I export the results to one of my cloud accounts with a date so I can compare.

You will see an ECU Software Number for each module. This corresponds to the Strategy number or the F188 value in FDRS that you see posted occasionally.

You can also use Forscan Viewer (free) or Forscan Lite (paid) apps. When you connect to a vehicle for the first time it interrogates the modules (can take a minute or two to fully connect). The module information will be under the Vehicle icon.

CAUTION: it only interrogates the modules the first time and then caches the results. Subsequent connections will use the cache (connects almost instantly). To force a new interrogation, you need to click the Vehicle icon, click the gear (settings) icon on the lower right and choose Clear cache. Then Disconnect and Connect again. You will notice it takes a lot longer to connect since it is interrogating again.

The results display more information than Car Scanner and I like when exporting it creates a file name with a date automatically.

The field you want is Strategy. It also includes a Calibration value that my be useful:

Using Car Scanner / Forscan Lite, I was able to determine this OTA updated my Gateway Module Strategy (F188) from ML3T-14H021-RCL to ML3T-14H021-RCP

Just saw this a few minutes ago. Did not show up when I took a drive this morning and hit the Software Updates menu item in Sync for some reason, even though it said the event triggered yesterday afternoon. I'll go out and see if I can get it to install now.

I got notified, both on screen and in the Ford App. The update was a bit of a surprise, occurring while truck was parked as I attended a meeting, and I noticed the on screen alert of this when I returned home.

4. How did this update make you feel: Saw it in the ford*ass app when I checked to turn on climate that an update had applied. And then saw that the update interrupted my L2 charging at a Shell location. That I then couldn't restart. 5 out of 5 stars Ford yet again.

Very nice trick.

Received this when I went for a drive today. Had an immediate on screen notification and was checking the app, but it had frozen. When I restarted I do have an app notification, but no message has shown up just yet.

'22 Lariat - EAP for reference.

Just glad to see such a simple update can be produced after almost 3 years of ownership. They might just get this right before they are all in the junk yard.

Even that is hard to tell. I know I’m in EAP for FordPass since you have to use Test Flight to load it but I’ve never been told if I’m EAP for the truck software.
