I too have this issue! Is there a known solution?

Thanks,

Daragh.
Well there’s nothing that can be done on our end. first, we don't have any powertrain updates to apply anyway so the GVMS block is kindof a moot point, but we're all still waiting on the updated gateway module that was supposed to come out "in June". So maybe later this week we'll see something show up, like Wednesday-Thursday timeframe....when most Lightning updates appear in FDRS.

Now instead of 'June' it's going to be 'August'......(well that's the new plan, could move the goalposts again later I suppose....)

Took my truck in for this and heating steering and supposedly both were done. Take it with a grain of salt but they paperwork says they did it.

Thanks for all the good info, Mike. Here's hoping August is for real but as you so humorously point out, just like Lucy and Charlie Brown...

WOW, cell balancing takes 22 days to complete?!
That seems a crazy long time...

2 weeks ago I had my 2023 Lightning display the "stop safely now" and "service vehicle soon" messages, along with the 20% power limit. My dealer had it towed from my driveway to their location. They called yesterday saying that modules need to be reprogrammed, but Ford put a hold on the recall. I assume this is the error that this thread is referring to, but lots of people here are saying that the truck is still drivable with this issue. Mine was power limited and not drivable. Is there something else going on that they're not seeing or I'm missing?

I got my truck back on track last week, so I was in pretty much the same spot as you, @Jatton. Except I got an error when trying to charge it.
My dealership waited for three weeks and just replaced the module that triggered the "power malfunction" error. Since then, I have made a few trips, one for 250 miles on 100 degrees outside, and the truck holds well. I have no towing experience yet, but I am optimistic.

Thanks for the info. They said they were hopeful to see a fix in the next few weeks, but bluntly said it could be much longer...
I'm glad you got yours back. I'm fortunate to have a similar Lightning as a loaner, so for now I'm fine with waiting. But it's annoying that there's no end in sight.

PTS alert just says "Lightning".

But the GVMS blocks are not on two '24 models I checked.

So it's assumed that it applies to '22 and '23 MY only at present.

2023 f150 lightning lariat
Hello. My Lightning has been in the shop for a month now. It's a 2023 lariat standard range. Anyway, it was unable to charge at home - it would charge for about a minute and then the blue circle would go orange and result in a charging error. The dealership confirmed the same issue with their charger (all level 2s). They diagnosed it as a bad secondary on board diagnostic module (which one, unsure... I'm new to this and learning).

The truck WAS operational and able to drive, I just could not charge it (obviously an issue that needed to be dealt with). I drove it to the shop with 80% charge.

They replaced the SOBDM with a new one, and have been unable to reprogram it. Since then, the truck is not functional (won't even , they have to jack it up to move it), still sitting there, and they keep telling me they are waiting for Ford to tell them how to solve a programming issue. They have brought it into the shop a couple times to check their work, but have confirmed its programming.

It has been a frustrating month now and they seem to be still struggling with programming this module as of today. Is the topic I am posting under potentially related to the techs have been having with my truck? It is a 2023 Lightning. They tell me it is a "programming issue" of the new SOBDM they installed. And if it is related, when will Ford allow the techs to program the module?

TIA for any help.

There is a block on programming all '22 and '23 model powertrain modules right now. The SOBDM is one of those modules that Ford isn't allowing techs to update (or do a PMI to install a replacement as well I'm guessing).

In this example below that's what the 'GVMS Warning' info means, and this would currently apply to your truck as well:
