Noob EV owner here. I just purchased my Lightning this week. How much did it cost you to have this installed? I am open to hardwiring, but it seems that only decreases the full charge time for my SR by ~ hour; so just having a 22" Nema 14-50 put in (can I do that myself?) and plugging in for 40 amps might save me a decent amount of money? Please and thank you for your time in advance!

My electrician in my case said that installing a 14-50 outlet would cost MORE than hardwiring it.

Reason:
Commercial $60 outlet, conduit & second J box would cost more than my setup - box to charger was less than 1 foot distance.

Plus he said why not get the extra 8A output since the charger is capable - let's not shortchange yourself...
