Unfortunately that seems to be a generic message. What's your phone and which version of Android do you have on it?

Z2 Force, I was able to get past that error by going a different route, I think. But now I'm getting a pop up asking to allow permission for a different app already installed on my phone.

The only interaction is should have with other apps (that I can think of) would be when you assign apps to the two buttons on the bottom left, but that's only to access their name and icon.

Some behavior I've noticed, the distance to empty is accurate now, matches what is in the fordpass app, but it has dropped below the previous errant report of 254. However it seems like my truck doesn't update the status after I've finished driving, so my last status in the widget is likely the last status before I shut the truck off. It shows the door locked, but alarm not armed, and the voltage is 15. Now, if I send a lock command to the truck from the fordpass app that seems to force the truck to update the servers so it can confirm the lock command, but at that point the gas tank level goes away so I imagine it doesn't get a good report when the engine is not running. After the lock command the alarm also reports as armed and voltage drops to 12. Wether any of this has anything to do with the fact that my truck is a base model xl, or that I haven't gotten any power up OTA updates in a long time, I don't know, but that's where I am right now.

With regard to the app permission, when I click on the apk download, I first get a message that is about restoring a backup, I click restore, then I get a second asking message for external storage write permission, when I allow that, the next message is asking for a different, currently installed app to have access to photos, media, and other flies on my device.

I haven't "clicked" any of the buttons beyond this point.

Ok. I didn't target any APIs earlier than Android 10, so it hasn't been tested on Android 9. I will buiild a virtual machine tomorrow to see if targeting that version has any issues.

I just pushed a version with the minimum SDK for Android 9. I ran it through some quick tests on a virtual device and everything seemed to work, so you can give it a field test on real hardware.

Widget seems to work fine, except the graphic on the right is a Mach-E. It does say "Ford F-150" in the upper left.

I received an update this morning and everything seems to be correct. I do have one question, unrelated, I keep getting this OTA message. Does this mean I will be updated between now and the 3rd of March?

Looks like the OTA is close; I forget the stages but I think "artifact_retrieval_in_progress" means it's being downloaded. That follow something like "delivery_queued" when it's preparing to download. Hopefully next is "success" and not "failure".

Note that the notification will keep popping up until you click on "Clear Alert".
