I'm about to take possession of my Lightning and trying to decide how long I should keep my older F150 as a backup.

I have NOT had any problems, but your experience may be totally different, keep the old truck until your confidence is established that the Lightning will be generally trouble free, who knows for sure but in 30-60-90 days and most manufacturing problems should have surfaced by then

There are always gonna be anomalies out there but here is my experience, I was fortunate enough to be one of the first deliveries. I’m going on 7 months and 13k miles of ownership. Like taxman said. The first month small things arose and were thankfully quickly mitigated by ford. All of the minor issues have really been cosmetic with the exception of my Frunk that failed very early on. Mechanically the truck has be amazing.

Best vehicle I've ever owned. Compared to Rivian or Tesla I feel more comfortable should my truck need repairs with all the facilities nationwide.

I just went over 6 months and I find it painfully difficult to go back to my ICE/Hybrid vehicles. The mechanicals and performance are amazing...still. I agree with Taxman...the holdover time is a personal decision. Keep it for awhile. I doubt that you will drive it much. Congrats on your new Lightning!!

16000 nearly perfect miles. The worst thing that has occurred to me is annoying air dam warnings between 45 and 60. I own 8 ice vehicles ( my business ) and now I don’t want to drive any of them ever again.

I’m also an ICE F150 driver to lightning driver.

No issues on my Lightning after 5,000 miles. I had to drive our Edge to the dealer to get appraised to buy the lease out when our Mach-E was delivered. I don't think I could ever go back to an ICE vehicle.

I would sell your old F150 ASAP. It's value will only go lower.

4 months and about 2700, zero issues other than a few errant sensor warnings.

Same here. Six months in, around 9K miles and it has been rock solid. One charging update just after delivery and nothing since. I have several other vehicles to drive and the Lightning is by far the favorite.

160 miles on mine and my "frunk" already broke. Only used it 5x for show and tell.

the issue I’m running into is that the dealerships want nothing to do with the EVs

The facilities, process, parts and procedures are in place what is missing are motivated service departments staffed with knowledgeable / trained technicians.

@Ford Motor Company did its best to lead the horses to water but they're having trouble getting results from stagnant minded individuals.
