If the v3 station is not on the app but would it still work via plug and charge?

I met up with someone who had one of the Ford prototypes last week and he had tried the V3 in Halifax, NC and was not able to charge with P&C or through the Tesla app. We met at a Cary, NC V3 and he charged there with both P&C and the app.

So even it is a V3, the Tesla software has to be updated to work with our Ford ?

My understanding is that there is a communication board that has to be replaced in the V3s before it is fully compatible with CCS. Tesla has been upgrading sites and I expect more of them will be added in the next few months. It is surprising that some sites that were just built recently aren’t open to Ford yet. There is another site in Blacksburg, VA that has been open for less than two weeks and it’s not on the list.

I actually just checked and the Halifax site was added sometime since last Saturday so they’re making progress.

I traveled across Minnesota once with a camper and once in frigid temperatures which required me to charge every hundred miles almost every stop I made was at a Tesla supercharger no issues. Is there a particular location or none of them working for you?

The only thing you can do is check the Tesla map to see what sites are open to us with adaptors. Tesla doesn't have a media department, so there will be no new information.

I live in Memphis and travel to Jonesboro AR to visit family. There is a V3 Tesla Supercharge location in Jonesboro, but its not showing on my app. Are not all V3's open to us?

I live in Beebe. Went to Tupelo MS couple weeks ago. The Supercharger in Brinkley, AR wasn’t on the map at the time but it did work. It now shows on the map. I haven’t made it to Jonesboro yet. Don’t go that way often.

Bottom line, no, not all V3 (or V4) stations are enabled for CCS. There may be hardware or software updates needed, but even if those are all in place, it is up to Tesla to flip the switch. They may keep some stations Tesla only at their discretion.

I am specifically hoping for Little Falls to open up. It would be nice to have a DCFC faster than 50kW between St. Cloud and Brainerd/Baxter.

Found a couple spots going cross country that have two banks of Tesla chargers - one set is compatible one is not - after about 5 minutes of range anxiety at 3 am figured this out.

AARP directed to old pedestals, Tesla App to new useable pedestals, Ford App doesn't no either exist.

no one has any control over CCS usage at Tesla Superchargers, except Tesla. They own the sites. They own the Hardware. They own the software. They make the decisions. They decide which locations are adaptable, and those that remain as 'Tesla Only' locations.

Their locations MAP is the only sure way to know.

Filter with "Other EVs"(magic-dock locations), and "NACS Compatible"(use-your-own-adapter locations)
