Wait a minute, Ford! You said: " New pricing will be $495 annually and $49.99 monthly." Don't you mean: "... or $49.99 monthly."???? Your wording means the total price for the year is $1,094.88 ($495 + 12 X $49.99). Really?

Regardless, I will not pay more than $20.00 per month, even though I use it frequently. I agree with everyone else, Ford has a lot of nerve charging for a system that they have promised to upgrade for more than a year and has not yet fulfilled that promise.

I love my Lightning and am constantly showing it off to others, but Ford must have a "Bluecruise" marketing department that is completely out of touch with reality.

Is Canada getting this price reduction? It's showing $100/month which I am pretty certain is the old price.
But even with a reduction, based on the US pricing this would still be way too high (about $70).
I doubt I would even get it for long trips. This is a step in the right direction but it needs to come down a lot before I'd consider getting it.

And of course, I would want the latest updates.

@Ford Motor Company, is there any chance I could get a credit for what I’ve paid so far, given that BlueCruise hasn’t delivered the features I was promised? I was told I’d have 1.2 by the end of 2023, but here we are near the end of 2024, and I’m still on 1.0. Should I be concerned about how long I’ll be waiting for 1.4, or will I just hear about 1.5 while still waiting?

I love 1.0, but I’ve been excited for lane change assist and everything else coming in the newer versions. At this point, am I just never going to see these features on my 2023 Lightning? If I’d known it would be like this, would I have paid for BlueCruise at all?

On another note, I’m super excited for the Ford Expedition announcement this week! With a new baby on the way, we need a bigger SUV, but I’m starting to wonder if it will come with BC 1.4 from the factory… or will I end up practicing patience again like with my Lightning? Maybe I should be cautious this time around, or is Ford about to change my mind?

While I am excited to see this news, I am with other members who are also annoyed at the lack of promised BC updates. Before we even think of paying pay this, are we guaranteed the latest version? What will the terms of service be on this with hardware changes or updates?

There should be some kinda guarantee about what blue cruise software version we will be getting at minimum (at least 1.4 for 2024 owners, etc) before asking us to fork over money for a subscription. Otherwise, if we're not getting updates, why are we paying for the service?
Lots of folks complaining about updates here but frankly if you are not buying it for what it provides at the time of purchase then you doing it wrong.

Perfectly fine to be frustrated with the updates but NEVER buy something for what it MAY offer, buy it for what it DOES offer.

Agreed on your take when purchasing something, but a lot of the comments are saying they won't subscribe (new purchase) without the updates, so they are pushing to have what they want before they buy.

Ford F-150 Lightning BlueCruise Pricing Lowered For Both Annual & Monthly Fees IMG_1303

Am I reading this correctly that for $395 more than the 3-year option that was previously offered, you can now get an option that lasts for the life of the vehicle? If so, where is the option to pay the difference? Asking early adopters to pay $495 per year on top of the $2,100 already paid sure is an interesting choice given the new life of the vehicle price. This does not inspire brand loyalty to me.

I am a heavy user of BlueCruise, averaging around 20,000 miles per year so far and well over half of that is highway mileage. It is still not worth $495 per year to me.

Totally would have paid the extra couple hundred for a lifetime if was offered at purchase time over the 2100 for 3 years... bummer they arn't asking current folks for a 1 time payment to opt into lifetime for only like 400 bucks. Seems like an easy money maker for ford...

There is a one time option now to have it for life ? wow 😂. @Ford Motor Company f everyone else that bought in past 🤷🏻‍♂️ screw the early adopters let’s take care of the new people wow, just wow

I was gonna say do a family sharing option for people with multiple cars would be sweet. Some of us have Mach e and lightning🤷🏻‍♂️. The big brain is over at Ford. Never thought of that. They think let’s hook up new people to get more cars sold, but screw all the other people who bought cars. Once again so happy I did not get this on my 2024. I would’ve been heated if I spent $2100 knowing now if you spent 395 more dollars you get it for the life of the car wow all I can say.

I think I respectfully disagree. The lightning is a bit different then let’s say an ICE f150

from 2021 the premise of the lightning was to be the first of Fords offering to push updates like a Tesla (not asking for FSD) to continually improve the vehicle.

fast forward 3 years and new 2025 f150 ICE vehicles are changing lanes with blue cruise while my 23 is still on 1.2 which isn’t really any different than 1.0.

luckily - not complaining ….yet but I had/have 3 years included - so I have another year before my subscription is up.
At the time of my truck gets 2.0 or whatever it will be by then and it’s a good system I will pay . however we all did buy for what was the present and the future - just like Tesla buyers.

To your point, ice vehicles were always purchased for what they did then and no one bought for what they would do later. EVs are the opposite in my opinion.

If Ford wants to charge $100 a month and I am getting wi-fi - constant navigation updates and continuing improvements on bluecruise / features then I would gladly pay.
However Ford has stripped out everything they said they were going to do on the lightning / other then send updates so they can do future updates and throw us a bone every once in while -then think they are doing a solid when whey send us a great price break!!! While forgetting that they said they would do 3 years ago.
And ford wonders why their stock price has hardly moved since Farley took over. They know if they just send out a press release about something great it will move the needle a hair until people forget then send out another press

Did anyone ever get a platinum black edition in satin black wrap? Did they ever make one? Yet they did a big reveal about it for 24.

no one is going to spend $50 a month on a system that doesn’t really improve on anything .

telsa has proven to improve software continuously and that’s why people pay for it.

Just my opinion and had to vent.

I should be walking into ford dealerships now and be able to buy/order a new lightning that is better than the one I have now. Instead new buyers are walking in and buying a truck that hasn’t increased range in 3 years / hasn’t had any updates other than a heat pump / removed some very good features - and now are getting overtaken by GM in EV sales this quarter.

I'm not talking about tracks, EV vs ICE, I'm talking about ANYTHING.

Evaluate the cost vs benefit situation at the time of purchase for the capability at the time of purchase. This "thing" costs this much and provides this capability.

Bottom line MANY folks bought BC 1.0 because of the features it provided. Folks are still buying 1.2 for the capability it provides. Evaluate what you have now, what it costs, and decide if its worth it. If it gets an update in the future then great! But don't let that convolute the situation, it is neither better because it COULD get an update, or worse because it has not, it is what it is and decide if that is worth the price.

Bottom line your truck is no less or no more than what it is simply because it could, but doesn't, have something you have never had.

It's still not worth it. You could cut the new price in half and it's still overpriced for what it offers.
I kind of wish I could have gotten an option for a $100 discount for removing the sensors for it all together. This along with the lane keeping thing almost got me in an accident when trying to hug the lines on a very narrow 2 lane highway with semi trucks or farm equipment coming from the other direction.
