As an interim solution try running a fan on it while it’s charging. It might give it just enough cooling to avoid the overheating.

Or derate it down to a lower amperage, that’ll reduce the heat level within the chargerAs an interim solution try running a fan on it while it’s charging. It might give it just enough cooling to avoid the overheating.
that’s a better solution but I don’t know if the poster feels comfortable getting into the box.Or derate it down to a lower amperage, that’ll reduce the heat level within the charger
Is it toggle switch or app based to adjust the amperage? I assumed you could change it via Wi-Fithat’s a better solution but I don’t know if the poster feels comfortable getting into the box.
Hmmm…i assumed it was in the box, toggle or jumper, but I don’t know for certain. Derating in an app would definitely be the preferred interim fix.Is it toggle switch or app based to adjust the amperage? I assumed you could change it via Wi-Fi

Yeah it's a pretty simple change. Just make sure you switch off your breaker before you start taking that charger apart. I did see an amperage adjustment in the app as well.https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/attachments/fordchargestationproig-compressed-pdf.49036/
go to page 15, looks like a switch you set to specific amperages
Yes.. I had that exact same thing happen when I was trying to get the charger shipped to me.. Passed around 7 times.. The marketing department is who you want for anything Lightning related at the end of the day. Even if they tell you it isn't the right department.I tried starting a chat session with support in the FordPass app and they gave me a number to call. It was the marketing department, they forwarded me to the FordPass department, but it turned out to be the Lincoln department. They forwarded me to the EV department, but it turned out to be the marketing department. They then forwarded me to the Lightning department, which turned it to be the customer satisfaction department. I'm getting no where with their support.
My understanding is that the maximum is set in the evse and then it can be used selectable up to the maximum. It would not be safe to have 8g wiring and have it user selectable over 32 amp, but there is no reason why someone should not be able to turn it down to 24 or 16 amps in the app.NEC was supposed to be changed to disallow any software changing of current. The only safe way is to use some jumper or switch pack that one has to access inside. We assume that one knows how to secure power before they attempt this.
This is exactly correct. My understanding is that the maximum is set in the evse and then it can be used selectable up to the maximum. Yes i'm in Quebec.Whisky, Tango, Foxtrot!!! You're in Quebec, right? What hope do those of us in Arizona have? Personally, I would not find this acceptable, and initiate warranty replacement.
