I also got this update (EAP) but I have no idea what it’s supposed to accomplish - can someone in the know tell me what the Gateway Module update adds?

It add hope and dreams….and maybe something useful but only Ford will ever know.

All I know is my HIS worked afterwards, but not my HERS.
Jokes aside, my Home Integration Setup worked again after this update.

Sometimes it’s a prerequisite for other updates. There have been several cycles where a GWM update goes out and then a bigger one follows a few days/weeks later. I believe the GWM manages the distribution to other modules.

As described from another F-150 Forum: "The GWM is mounted under the driver side instrument panel. The OBD connector is fitted to the GWM. The GWM acts as a central gateway to translate messages across all 4 vehicle controller area networks (CAN), and vice versa. The GWM is the only module on this vehicle with this ability. The GWM also serves as a termination module for each of the networks to which it is connected. "

While that doesn't describe what this actual update does, it gives an idea of what was updated.

I just noticed I got this update not sure when I got it but I looked if there was a software update because when I got home today and plugged in I checked the app and noticed the truck was not charging. App said waiting to charge until 541 pm. I double checked and I do not have any preferred charge times set. I don’t like this as I have a grizzle e duo charger that does not play nice with charge times settings. If one is charging and the other is plugged in and not charging but starts charging it can sometimes fault the charger. I just pressed the charge now to get it to charge. I did not think to take a screenshot.

also, I have a mustang mach e and it appears it didn’t get this same update. I have a 2023 lariate er

This update is downloading for me right now. I plan to test my HIS system as soon as it completes.

I got this update this afternoon while my truck was in for the 24S76 Recall. I don't know if it was coincidental that I got an update because the truck was at the dealer.

Not on early access program (EAP) and still on SYNC 10.1.0 (from October 2024).

Since when these come out we all want to know what year (and possibly trim) is getting it. So make sure you update the Vehicles section in your Account Details with year and trim. Click here.
