Of course... got it. Thanks.

I have my truck since early July 2024... following this thread because I just got my free FCSP wall box and am about to get it installed for the 80-amp TOU charging benefit, which will work very well with my ER battery and my schedule.

I didn't fully realize when I bought the XLT ER just how large this battery is... with my 8-hour TOU low cost charging setup at home, those 8 hours weren't enough to refill the ER battery with the 40-amp wallbox I now have.

Nonetheless, if there turn out to be long-term quality problems with the FCSP I want to know now before I pay for the 3-gauge installation and circuit panel work.
The wiring is still required for any other evse of the same current. Don't worry, the fcsp has a warranty and considering most ER trucks came with one there are way less complaints. It doesn't like to push 80a in 120degree sun.

Also, if you find yourself actually needing 80a to get your charge everyday then you are on the fringe of normal use.

A real world scenario for me is that my electricity has a peak / off peak / and super off peak tier . I need to charge starting at midnight and then leave for work at 6:00am ( which is also when the tier changes ) So I'm close to 80,000 miles since June 2022 so I regularly come home to 20% SOC every night and I charge to 90% so the 80 amp charger and the 2022 lariat er with dual on board chargers makes a huge difference for me.

I know I'm close to fringe based on the miles already on my truck , but I'd also argue that my situation doesn't seem like it couldn't apply to many drivers out there.

Also: update - going through the paces with Ford for a warranty replacement. As usual the Ford team does a great job with Ford team members here on the forums looking out for us. While it's been annoying ( and seriously so expensive) to have to DC fast charge daily , I'll live while the issue is resolved.

It’s worth the cost - which was about $550 for me but it was an easy install. That’s said, parts wear out. I’d have to pop the cover off but I thought that the cord is torqued down to bolts inside, which should mean a relatively easy replacement.
