Their current incompetence, customer service giving the run around when asking for an update. Pretty much we are only a handful right now, the wave of Lightning owners is coming and they can barely handle a few right now.

My confidence level with them is not great right now, which is why I am asking if those that have taken delivery have been contacted. We have some members here who have already had their Trucks a bit over 5 days which is the time limit for them to contact you to ship the Pro Charger.

Agree 100%. Mine truck has been shipped and when I called them on Wednesday and spoke to my rep via text she said I should have the documentation to sign within a day. Now it's Friday and she's not answering my texts.

When my truck arrives I plan on going to inspect it and record the mileage. I will not take delivery until my charger is installed.

Having Sunrun distribute the charger was a terrible mistake on Ford's part in my opinion. I would have happily increased my deposit to cover the cost of the charger to have it installed myself.

It's made what should be a pleasurable expirence into a a miserable one.

Bad move Ford.

Which is even more reason for Ford to ship directly to the customer.

Maybe I’m paranoid but I envision situations where they are low on Stock for Chargers and they begin to prioritize those who choose their service. Or hold your Charger hostage for weeks months because their customer service is trash.
@Ford Motor Company , Please take note that when you call SunRun you are talking to the “FORD TEAM” that’s specifically designated to see this project through. My advisor still has not contacted me after a FORD SUNRUN REP said he would contact me after he got off the phone.

Anyways, frustrated, I went to the SunRun site to see what I could find and guess what? It looks like I have an account and there were permits submitted on behalf of me for installation? WTH! I haven’t signed any paperwork, or have been given a quote. I suggest you guys who have been contacted by SunRun sign into their site, it’s just your phone number you have to use to sign in

And in my county, the electrician has to do an on-site visit interior just to prepare the permitting application. This because a detailed electrical load calculation is required.

Sunrun called today regarding my install and quoted me something like $1650 to install my "free" charger, without even looking at my setup. It's going on the outside of the house right next to the main power panel. No extended run, no travel through a wall, etc. Cheapest possible install. Then when I asked about getting my own electrician to do it for a lot less, the sunrun rep confirmed my delivery will be "delayed' while they take care of sun run installations. Nice job Ford, you need to do better and stop subcontracting to predatory solar companies that push leases.

The strange thing is that Ford changed preferred installers to Sunrun from Qmerit. Qmerit is listed on the Ford EVSE literature for the MME.

I am having solar installed this summer. Sunrun could have done it, but when their sales representative said that they could reroof the house (it needed it), they could do it at cost saving many thousands (their quote did not save thousands. It was more than the lowest and maybe 3k less than the high quote). They even said that there was extra savings by using the investment tax credit on the entire job (tax fraud). My accountant said no way. We are using a different company and upgrading our electrical service to 200amp from 100amp. The new panel will be in the garage and the old panel will become a sub panel. The EVSE will be located within a few feet of the new panel. It would be great to have the evse when the solar installation happens and ideally Ford would supply them directly. Let us pay for them and allow a refund with to he purchase of the truck and return of unit provided at that time. To have sunrun hold these devices hostage for sunrun customers is a bad move by Ford. It they are sent out within 5 days of purchase... maybe ok, but that is not the impression that we the customers/future customers are getting. Ford should do something to get ahead of this and make sure their customers get taken care of properly.

I will just chime in and say the living with the 110V mobile EVSE as the only way to charge at home (while waiting for the FCSP) is going to leave a sour taste in many peoples mouths, and may even result in returned trucks.

Our EVSE died and we had to rely on 110V charging for a couple weeks in our Mach-e while we waited for the warranty replacement. It was not fun! Couldn't recover enough to cover daily usage and had to leave it sitting at a local mall every night to get some L2 charging in just to make the commute.

We already have a phev and EV in our household. Not getting the fcsp right away will be a bummer, but not keep us from using the truck as we like. We have 2x30amp (hardwired), 1x20amp (dryer plug) in our garage, but I certainly understand that replenishing miles at 1.4kw is not going to be sustainable for many owners. It would be one thing if Ford does not have enough fcsp units at time of sale, so it is something owed by the dealership/ford to the owner. Being owed a product from not-the-retailer, from a company that you have no relationship with, is not a good place to be as a customer. Sunrun has been paid for each of the fcsp unit or will be (guaranteed by ford), so there is no reason for them to release them in a timely manner to not-sunrun customers, particularly if there are not enough to go around initially.

Contracting with predatory companies that push leases is a kinda the thing with car manufacturers. Sad they wanted to make the electrification experience like the dealer based buying experience...

As far as I know, most people do not have 220v outlets available in their garages. I don't, and nobody I know does.

I am not paying an electrician to come out twice, so will have to charge on 110v. I still am amazed that anyone at Ford thought this is acceptable. I am in NY but Sunrun doesn't even service my area, so I have zero alternatives.

They could at least throw us a bone and give us free Electrify America for a few months after delivery.

I would not be surprised if Ford abandons their current system for distributing the FCSP through SunRun. It really needs to be delivered to the dealer directly like any other dealer/customer installed accessory. I'm kind of hoping that they'll have supply issues that'll force them to give people the option to get a check in lieu of the unit. I'm probably not going to use the FCSP and I'd rather have the cash.

What I am wondering is why Ford thought it would be a great idea to begin with….. when Ford Canada is doing it the right way. I guess we will find out if any owners receive their Charger or not soon enough.

But I can tell you that SunRun customer service is full of excuses and “I’ll leave a message for your advisor and he’ll call you back” it’s been a month smh
