I asked Ford's EV Charging department why they have a setting in the Ford Pass App that lets you adjust the Charge Station Pro amp draw from 6 amps to the maximum you have allowed per your circuit installation, which in my case is 80 amps, as I installed it on a 100-amp circuit. They said the app used to have that functionality, but it no longer is available in the app, and yet it remains, and I asked why, but no answer. Ford should reactivate that functionality as it is a lot easier to change the amp output in the app than it is to turn off the power, remove the faceplate, then take out 9 screws in the cover, only to have to reverse that procedure, just to turn the dial to a different setting. If Ford could please make the functionality in the app work again ASAP, if not they should remove that option from the app until they can, and then add it back to the app as it is a great function, and in my case would be frequently used.

Are you saying the ability to change the amperage in the Charge Station app, available through FordPass is non-functional?
As far as I know, there is no direct way to change amperage in FordPass.

Yes through the app it has a slider bar to change amps, but it does not work. Photos attached. Energy tab at bottom, then charge station, then settings, then edit max charge current.

It's been problematic for many months, even in older versions of FordPass.

I'd love for them to fix it!

I would argue it never worked at all. Even when it did "work" it took many requests to actually change the charge rate.

Well at least you have an app.

Us with the Juicebox charger now have no app at all.

Yeah but slider is in the charge station app not directly in FordPass. Picky I know!

I am looking for an EV Charger that uses my excess solar in real time to charge my EV. The Enphase IQ does it in 25% increments adjusted every 15 minutes, but I want something more responsive, and with the FordPass App if it worked I could tweak it to be close most if the time.

I think Emporia has what you’re looking for.

I'll second @Maquis 's suggestion. Emporia advertises exactly that (using excess solar to charge).

On the changing the amps from FordPass/Charge Station app, yeah it's a pain. Mine was stuck at 60A and I have been trying for month to get it back to 80A. A couple days ago I finally remembered @TaxmanHog suggesting to reboot so I flipped the breaker to reboot. It's charging at 80A now. I haven't tested changing it again yet, don't want to jinx myself.
