Haw anyone had issues programming a 3rd key? I've followed all steps multiple times, no luck. My 3rd key is the same model number as the original 2 keys.

Any tips or suggestions would be fantastic.

Both fobs have to be with you to program the 3rd I think.

I did this with a generic key fob I ordered from aliexpress with no issue. This extra fob is left in the truck in faraday bag in locked center console safe. Mainly use for back up incase I lost my fob and for when I drop it off for service. Definitely need two original key fob.

Find a different set of directions from a different source. There may be an error in the directions you have. Or you and the directions aren't at the same level. You need a second opinion. Try a video instead for instance.

When programming my 3rd key remote control I had to try about 5 or 6 times to get it to work.

Also note that the manual does not mention which direction to insert the fob in the section about programming the remote controls, but in the section about Creating a MyKey it states that the buttons should be facing toward the rear of the vehicle.

Timing matters. Have to do it quick.

I just finished programming a spare I got off AliExpress for $31 shipped. It took me 4 or 5 attempts before it was successfully programmed. This fob has a remote start instead of the frunk and the remote start actually works. It also has a tailgate button which works. The downside is no frunk, but I only got it as a spare in case I lose an original one.

Another member mentioned this one in another thread, which is why I picked it. Took 8 calendar days to reach me, so fairly quick. It is #4 (315MHz) https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806449670553.html

Mississippi one, Mississippi two, Mississippi three………….. It’s all about the timing.

Try this procedure that I rewrote and renumbered from the 2023 Owners manual for better understanding. It should be the same for the 2022 manual. The tricky part is my step 4 where you need to HOLD the push button for at least 3 seconds and no more than 10 seconds.
  1. Access the backup slot.
  2. Place the first programmed remote in the backup slot with your foot off the brake pedal,
  3. Press and release the push button ignition switch. Wait five seconds THEN Press and release the push button ignition switch again a second time.
  4. THEN Within 10 seconds, remove the first remote and place the second programmed remote control in the backup slot. Press and release the push button ignition switch. THEN Wait five seconds Then Press and HOLD the push button ignition for at least three seconds, but no more than 10 seconds then RELEASE the push button
  5. Remove the remote control and place the unprogrammed remote control in the backup slot and press and release the push button ignition switch.
If programming was not successful, wait 10 seconds and repeat all the Steps
