I got the LVB sensor replaced last Thursday and got the 6.8.0 update last night after many months of failed updates.

Your truck is recording very good battery conditions to the cloud, yet it is still failing due to unsatisfactory battery conditions. Your capacity is at 34 of 35, SoC at 94 of 100 and the battery is reading 13v. You aren't doing anything wrong and your battery seems fine. Nothing you can do but keep trying and hope it goes through. The Ford account cannot do anything to help you. I have seen this happen before. Just keep trying and it will (hopefully) eventually go through.

"errorCode":"InhibitRequiredHvNotQualifiedLvLow(204)""totalLvBatteryCapacity":"34""currentLvBatteryDataQuality":"NotWithinSpec""currentLvBatteryVoltage":"13""currentLvBatterySoc":"94""currentLvBatteryTemperature":"10""dynamicPostUpdateSocThreshold":"35""estimatedTimeToActivate":"420""estimatedTimeIncludingRollback":"750""currentDrainRate":"50"
Finally! 6.8.0 installed

Vodoo instructions (for mine)

Left away (out of signal reach) keys and turned off Fordpass all night.

Turned off schedule updates.

Left truck connected all night. Level 2

This morning drove 20min. Fordpass still off line. Used physical key for driving.

Headlights off and parking brake on.

Charging cable unplugged.

All USB and OBD devices unplugged.

No WIFI connection

Pressed update now button. Locked it and walk away.

Came back 5min later. Says on the screen "Software Updating"

State of chage around 77% & around 95% LVB

🧘🏻‍♂️ Thank you for all the help!

My truck has downloaded 6.8.0. Looks like it will go from 6.2.0 directly to 6.8.0.

What have I missed?
Throwing darts, might be some undesirable code in the intervening updates which you missed, which will be revised and packaged in a later update?

Don't hate me but after successfully installing 6.8.0 two night ago my truck is installing another "Smart Changes" update that it says will take 42 minutes. 6.8.0 was described as only taking 11 minutes. Could I be on my way to Blue Cruise 1.3? I've never seen an update take anywhere near that long.

My truck is making some crazy ass sounds with this update. And it's off and not connected to Pro Power. I feel like's it XMAS.

I can check which one it is with your VIN. You can PM if you prefer to keep it private.

Thanks. After it completed it showed this. I haven't driven it yet but I didn't notice any obvious changes.

Let me know if you want my VIN to check anything else!

Just got this update pushed to me this morning after a driving a bit yesterday. SoC of the 12 v is at 87%, so we'll see it installs this AM.

Edit:

Did this update move the cruise control limit to the bottom left of the speedo underneath 0? Used to be much more prominent tucked underneath the speed digits. Good thing the release notes are so well detailed, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed. Right @Ford Motor Company?

I believe it was this or 6.5, that did that, I agree, the old layout was better, but over time we'll get used to the change, might be they want the screen space for something related to BC-1.4

After multiple failures before Christmas I had 6.8 install on the first try today. I had the BMS update done a couple of weeks ago. I’ve never had an “inhibit” update install on the first try so it looks like maybe Ford has finally solved the problem.

My 6.8.0 update installed easily last night. I keep a 1 amp Noco maintainer on the LVB most of the time. My LVB was showing 100% in the Ford account info. I did a manual install, turned off the truck and locked the doors. I moved the key FOB to our bedroom after reading that might make a difference. Truck was plugged in but not charging (I do scheduled charging on my charger)

I have a theory on why so many of you are having problems with failed updates. The Lightning (and probably most EVs) don't do a good job of keeping the LVB fully charged. Once a lead acid battery (an AGM battery is a form of lead acid) sits at a partial SOC for a while the battery loses capacity. That's why you see ICE cars that are mostly grocery getters needing a new battery every 2 - 3 years. So once the Lightning LVB loses capacity it becomes much harder for it to meet the OTA criteria it requires. The 6.8.0 is one of those larger updates that requires the truck to be off.

Now this is just a theory and I have nothing to back it up other than I keep a tender on my truck most of the time.
So when you say you leave a maintainer on your LVB you plug in an extension cord to this Noco maintainer every time you park your vehicle at home? Just shut the frunk on the cord, trying to follow what you're doing. Thanks
