Did you reset or reprogram anything in the truck so it knows it has a new LI battery now? If yes, could you please share SOP?Aftermarket LVB Ohmmu H3 is flawless
BMS replacement scheduled for 2/16
Thank you for a great post. If I was a Native American, I would call you OTAUW (Over The Air Update Whisperer).I did a write-up of what happens when you get an OTA here:
https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thr...p-by-step-breakdown-of-the-ota-process.20875/
This is based solely on my research. Nothing there is official from Ford, as they treat the OTA process as if it was Area 51.
A few glitches during installation, used a memory saver that turned out to be unnecessary. Trailer brake system alert wouldn’t clear and frunk lid failed to work. Disconnected the negative cable for 1 minute, reinstalled and alert cleared. Closed frunk manually and normal operation resumed.Did you reset or reprogram anything in the truck so it knows it has a new LI battery now? If yes, could you please share SOP?
I put one in my motorcycle that used to crap out a lot due to battery and never had a problem after that. They were really inexpensive back then.

Do you know any way of knowing what updates have been available for a specific Trim or model year? and which ones have been installed on a particular VIN? I assume some updates are for features my truck may not have. Some updates may have been missed because I had the connectivity off, .....
In other words without being a dealer and having special access, how do I know:
1 - What updates I should have? Anyone on the forum keeps track of every update that is out there for Lightning and what trim they apply to?
2 - What do I have already installed (not everything has a name or announces itself in Ford Pass). I feel like, I may have had some updates I don't know about.
In short, any way to figure out what updates I am missing without having special access?
I really appreciate you sharing this. Enjoy your new battery.A few glitches during installation, used a memory saver that turned out to be unnecessary. Battery has Bluetooth connectivity and an app for my iPhone that allows configuring for F-150 Lightning and easy monitoring of battery health.
Not inexpensive but definitely an upgrade and I don’t worry about getting stranded.
Even with the access I have, some of those things are difficult to answer. OTA history is only kept in PTS for "x" amount of time. It says 60 days, but it is recorded for much longer than that.Did you reset or reprogram anything in the truck so it knows it has a new LI battery now? If yes, could you please share SOP?

Are far as what you pending, anyone with PTS or FDRS access can check that for you with your VIN. Mike or myself are usually around and don't mind doing so to anyone that asks.
This update took place last night. Upon starting my rip to work this morning, noticed all of my presents for my FM and XM radio were gone.Power Up 6.8.0 incoming- no clue what it does.

Imagine if you bought a house and after you moved in, seller randomly came in at different times and remodeled different rooms, removed and reinstalled house supports, Replaced HVAC, .... without telling you in advance what they plan to do and giving you an option to opt out of that specific change. You are really not cool with this but you don't want to potentially miss out on something important. You both understand if you want some of these stuff for free, there is a don't ask don't tell policy otherwise you can just lock the door (turn off that connectivity feature). Also Ford's explanations of what the updates are is very poor. Please provide details of what the updates entail.
I get that Ford wouldn’t want to publicize defects but they can’t even take a victory lap. People begged for a digital SOC indicator and the release notes for the updates that included it never mentioned it. They did brag about making the frunk alarm louder though.Imagine if you bought a house and after you moved in, seller randomly came in at different times and remodeled different rooms, removed and reinstalled house supports, Replaced HVAC, .... without telling you in advance what they plan to do and giving you an option to opt out of that specific change. You trust Ford won't Brick your truck and cheat on battery health numbers and in return Ford promises to gradually finish the unfinished truck you bought in a few years. If they tell you they just fixed an issue with regen and breaks that could have killed you in certain circumstances, someone with a truck that is not updated inevitably will stage an accident for a big pay day.
Now most of the updates are probably not that dramatic and details can be shared but if they do, and then they don't share the break issue, that will bring attention to something they don't want noticed. In absence of any federal regulation that forces the manufacturer to share what they are changing in your vehicle, it is mostly downside for them to do so.
So we are stuck with descriptions like enhancing and improving your overall experience. There is more trust going on in here than in most marriages.
Frankly that was not a big deal for me. However if they give me the following anywhere (could be berried in an advance screen), I would be happy enough to get off their case.I get that Ford wouldn’t want to publicize defects but they can’t even take a victory lap. My grill has always been on the front of the truck, right in the middle between the headlights. Not sure why you'd need software for that.Frankly that was not a big deal for me. Must have for me:
- 12V battery SOC
- Actual Energy available in KWh (preferably close to where mi/Kwh is displayed)
- 12V battery quiescent avg (how much juice it looses when it is off)
- The juice (in Amps or KW) flowing into and out of Both HVB and LVB (12V) live
- HVB Temperature in Numbers
- Coupler Temperature during chargring
- HVB SOH (How can they have a 70% warranty on this but don't tell you what it is? If the owner can see this, they may try to take care of the battery a little more and save Ford some money).
Cherry on top items:
- 12V battery voltage
- Display of Grill position
- Display of break light status
- HVB SOC and Votage Module Variation
- HVB Voltage
- AC Voltage, Current and Frequency during Level 2 charging
