Could be anything from a small charging glitch (happened once to me on 110v at a new gps location) to a component failure in the drive/software/battery.

It's like a check engine light on a normal car, don't know what it means until they do a diagnostic.

Hoping it's an easy fix for you!

Wait a day and see if the condition resolves, have you had any alerts of updates attempting or recently posted? BTW, what is your current SOC, looks to be very close to 100% and power available to motors is not restricted.
Thank you TaxmanHog for your reply. I truly appreciate your help. My original problem started Sunday evening and hasn’t changed. I haven’t received any updates or notices that I’m aware of.
My current SOC is 53%. I’m attaching pics.

Time to get Service involved @Ford Motor Company might help facilitate actions with your dealer service department

Going to update my situation with Powertrain malfunction/charge fault. Been at dealer since 11/18 after getting the wrench light and reduced power and couldn't charge past 66%. Modules supposedly on order now (as of 11/27, cause I guess no work at all was done during thanksgiving week!!), with no eta.

Was originally told I might have truck back by yesterday or today (11/30), lol. Service adviser called yesterday to let me know he'd be out of town rest of week and wouldn't be able to update me, but he didn't expect to receive anything. So, they've had the truck going on 2 weeks and about all I know is they ordered modules, but don't know when they will arrive and then it will be a 'couple of days' after that...Service adviser seems to not know anything about EVs just from the brief calls I have had and has acted extremely rushed to get me off the phone.

Not a great service experience so far with my first Ford. And I've dealt with several BMWs, VWs and most recently a Tesla for 2.5 years that was basically perfect and the only time it was in service for an actual physical recall, it took less than an hour in and out. Trucks been in service now twice in less than 4 months.

Well friends, I had an appointment on Friday with a local dealer (I live in Phoenix, AZ area). The service rep was super nice btw. She told me that I would have to leave the truck for service for a minimum of 2-4 weeks. They didn't have any loaner cars- that was a 2 week backlog. But Ford would reimburse for a rental car "but its a whole process." What does that mean? Well Ford would reimburse up to $60 day, but you would have to use Enterprise rentals only, and have to get a Ford vehicle. Guess what happened next, there are no Ford vehicles left at any of my local Enterprise agencies. So no loaners and no rentals in my area, real nice! Why the backlog- she said both of my local Ford dealers only have two techs trained to work on all their BEVs, and they had no plan on training more. She mentioned that since the power train error went away quickly and has not come on again, its most likely a one time error or bug, and safe to drive because if there is really an issue with a BEV they just stop working. Some of their frustrated customers have done this buy back program, so that is a thing. I ended up not leaving the truck at the dealer because this is my only vehicle. Not comfortable with my decision but I have no other choice. I'm a little frustrated but still love my truck, have no plan on selling back. Hopefully Ford can figure out their logistic/supply chain/resourcing issue. I know Tesla had similar issues when they first came out. But reality is I think this is just the new world (well at least where I live). I hope you all have better luck in your area.
Hi folks, thought I would give you an update. I lucked out for two months without any more warning lights. However ten days ago I saw a High Voltage Battery Warning (Electrical Fault) and Powertrain Malfunction lights and the truck lost 90% of its power. I was just coming off the highway and was able to limp home doing about 20mph. When I called Ford dealer this time they were very accommodating. They towed my Lightning to dealer and also dropped off loaner Mach e GT. Service tech said that battery module #9 needs replacing and Ford was sending one out to dealer. But it's gonna be a few week turnaround to get this fixed.

Definitely frustrating but at least I have a rental this time (I just don't think I'd purchase a Mach e, lol). I have mixed feelings about this whole ordeal. I get it, Ford over promised here, ran into supply chain, resourcing, and service station issues, and possibly released to market too soon, but seems like that's what automakers do right. I do feel like many BEV makers (besides Tesla) will be in the same learning curve boat as Ford. I really won't defend Ford here, there's lots of room for improvement. But I'm confident Lightnings will get better, and their batteries and software will get better. Its the new world we live in, and as an early adopter I'm patient and manage my own expectations daily. I continue to love my Lighting, best truck and vehicle I've owned. Thanks for listening folks. Keep you posted.

No updates.

Price Ford in Simi Valley CA has had the truck for over 24 hours and still haven't run a diagnostic. I contacted Ford Corporate support and was told that they can't even authorize a loaner/rental until a diagnostic is run. The dealership has no ETA....

I am extremely disappointed in Ford. It seems like this issue is endemic to the Lightnings. I also hoped that corporate would stand behind their products and customers.

Is it Ford that isn't standing behind their product, or your dealer? Corporate seems locked into having dealers....

It’s both. Corporate won’t help until the diagnostic is run, and the dealer won’t run the diagnostic….

kind of caught in a loop of no one helping.

@Ford Motor Company time to pay close attention to this behavior, failure to maintain customer satisfaction should be cause to terminate franchise agreements JMHO and BRUTAL opinion

My 2022 Lariat (Purchased new in February 2023) has a "Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power" alert. I have 13203 miles on it. It stopped charging last night and I had it towed to the dealer.

Has anyone else had this issue?
If so, what was the fix and how long did it take?

I appreciate the help.
Hi Pete! I can look into your Lightning's reduced power concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Lightning's VIN?

Powertrain malfunction for me also. Took an hour to limp it back to Ford dealership. No news yet.

Well it has been a little over a year since my first module failure and had to take my XLT extended range in for another module replacement. Not happy.
