I took an older version of a @GDN spreadsheet and highlighted in red all the folks who got the email. Exclusively June deliveries and across all June ship dates.

Roughly order numbers from 1266 to 6455. A few folks in this range reported not getting an email however.

Mine - 24144 - May 23, 2024.

I did receive the "defective" email.

I recommend those posting info about their adapters include the manufacturing date listed above the serial number on their adapter, rather than their reservation or delivery date.

That way we can bracket what day(s) the bad batch(es) were made.

As @TaxmanHog has posted, the five characters following the 'GF2' are the julian date of manufacture.

Both of my adapters were made the last week of May (27th and 30th), and were delivered roughly mid-June a week apart, but I only got one email about one of them so far.

So I guess when the replacement comes, they'll tell me which one they want back.

I got one email from Ford the other day, but I own two adapters.

Since they didn't say which one they were talking about, and I got both of them within a week of each other somewhere in the June-July timeframe, I can only hope they will identify which one of these they are interested in me returning:

EDIT: according to the decoder ring info @TaxmanHog posted, the adapter on the left was made on the 27th of May and the one on the right was made on the 30th of May.

So the one with the E is bad or good?
Does that stand for error or excellent?

I got both on the same day. Sold one, kept the other, with a May 27th production date. It will be interesting to see if I get one or two replacements. If I get two, I have no way to send back the other adapter. If I get one, I'll need to figure out whether I have a defective one or not...

I have no idea which of those two serials are bad, or if both of them are. I only got one email, but I have two adapters.

If I were guessing, I'd say the earliest one made (on the left) is the one that is in the suspect group, simply because others who've posted with dates made 4-5 days before mine also received the email.

I don't think the inclusion of an alpha character as part of the serial number would indicate anything really.
