What would break under full acceleration?

Ever since I bought this truck, I often wondered under full acceleration (full WOT for ICE engines), what would "break first"? I have seen home built electric cars/trucks with way too much power bend/twist/break axles, tear apart rubber belts and etc. Could that still happen with the F150L, or is over engineered to not happen?

CV axle shafts and usual wear items like brakes/bearings/tires would be the highest on the list I would suspect. Everything else has minimal moving parts but could still have random failures.

I fully accelerate every day when I leave the house. My driveway is a little over a 1/4 mile. I can hit 70 before having to break for the first corner to go around the pond. Nothing has broken yet, although i did miss corner number 2 before and ended up in the bean field. Took a while to get all the soy beans out of that low front radiator.

Never heard of anyone hitting a deer on their driveway but you are likely to be the first :clap:

I have taken a number of my anti EV friends for full acceleration runs from
(near) zero to 70+ on a nice straight stretch of county road in front of my house.

No converts yet, but I don’t the sh*t I did before they experienced how this truck rides. Of course they are all truck guys.

Each time I've done a "Full Pass" I think in the back of my mind about the couple of folks who had a fastener or some hardware come loose in the motor!!! We haven't heard further reports of what exactly went wrong, so it's something I think about when tempted for more aggressive use of my Lightning.

My phone (and one MacBook) have taken flight from the console to the back seat floorboard on several occasions cause I keep forgetting not to put things on the top of the damn console

Nothing should break. Ever. The weak link should be the tires. Everything else will be sized to a limit load with the gvwr guiding the top end of what the mass of the truck is and the torque specs at WoT driving a lot of driveline loads. Then again, people hop curbs, overload the bed, and don’t keep their tires inflated properly. Those are where abuse loads come in, and you hope the manufacturer is creative on how dumb people will be.

I seldom ever go full throttle, but once I was towing a Chevy diesel pickup truck up a hill (car dolly), with truck owner sitting in passenger seat and is said to him, watch this! I full throttled, and rocketed up hill towing his truck, and his response was “holly shit”!
