Could also be birds dropping stuff, trees falling or your tire launched a rock into the travel path.

Long time ago, something similar happened to my explorer 2 door. All I saw was a black blur and smash, a big star appeared on the windscreen. Thought it was a bird but couldn't confirm as there was no residue.

That is from an impact, where were you driving? Was there a golf course or shooting range nearby or were you going under a bridge?

It's a stress fracture for sure. Caused by the stress of something with a lot of force and/or speed smacking the hell out of your truck.
