2023 lightning pro. After 6 months my truck started getting a charge fault about 2 minutes after plugging in and won't charge. Chargepoint replaced the charger and cable. Replaced the breaker too. Still get same fault. Dealer checked it out and says there's nothing wrong with the truck. Still gets a fault at home. It will charge at other chargers.
Any suggestions?
We had a similar situation with our JuiceBox. I tried the Ford charger, and it charged fine and did not throw a fault. It was the JuiceBox.

Thanks! That worked. I lowered it to 40A on the chargepoint app and it kept stopping on the chargepoint charger side every 5- 10 minutes but the truck didn't fault. Then I lowered it to 30A and it worked fine and charged.
Was their any explanation for the ChargePoint stopping?

If your truck isn't faulting at the lower amperage, I'm guessing you have a bad thermal sensor in the charge port and it needs to be replaced.

Yes, it doesn’t seem right that if the Charge point is made to give you 48 amps that you can’t get that, especially if it worked correctly for 6 months, I would check the wiring especially that corroded ground and make sure all the wires are torqued correctly

Do you know the wire size used? Corrosion or loose terminals is what I would check first, since this worked fine for six months.

Possible grounding issues in your home wiring / circuit?
I agree, it sounds like a grounding issue, I had this same problem with my house, Even the portable 1450 wouldn't charge.

I agree with the other posts above mine. You are able to charge now, but I would classify this as a "work-around" more than a "repair". Try to find the root cause and have that repaired, whether it's a bad temperature sensor, bad EVSE, bad charge port on the truck, or bad wiring in your circuit.

I fought this issue with ChargePoint and Ford for 6 months. What was really weird was, a rental id4 would work flawlessly and the lightning would not. The second replacement from ChargePoint worked. Totally beyond my understanding. As an electrical engineer I could not get any real technical information out of Ford or ChargePoint.

I've had my Chargepoint for about 1.5 years and so far it's been working very well, only once did it lose internet connection and I had to restart it.

The one thing I don't like (and how post is related to the thread) is that they use those tension clips for connections rather than normal screw terminals. Granted, most people don't have / wont use a torque screwdriver so maybe this is their way of make sure the wires doesn't get crushed, but it seems like a source for potential problems down the road.

This is the best answer.

The truck and EVSE cannot detect the condition of your wiring. It either works or it doesn’t.

In my case the charger would work flawlessly with the VW ID4 but not the lighting. It was not a thermal issue. I feel it was a communicating issue. The second replacement solved the issue. So in my mind, there are some weird issues with the charge point charger. I connected my Telsa charger and two other chargers up to the same wiring and did not have issues.
