Just wondering if anyone has run a Lighting down the 1/4 mile drag strip... yet? Or, if any National Racing Association (NMRA/NHRA/etc.) is going to open a class to for the new Lighting???

I guess since no one has actually received their Lightning, the answer would be 'not yet'.

Not opposed to giving it a try though, if I get my truck before the track closes.

Program a little more power to the front wheels to better plant the truck for traction.

No, on a launch you want more power to the rear because the weight shifts to the back under acceleration.

Expect to hit the speed limiter before reaching the 1/4 mile marker.

That would be very nice! the Mach-e (Both GT and non-GT) have trap speeds around 100mph due to power drop off at higher speeds.

I may have to convince the wife to line up next to me with her GT and see what happens. I suspect she will take it off the line, but the Lighting may start making up the difference once you pass ~60 or ~70 mph.

I think it was Kyle who said "it pulls hard into triple digits (allegedly)". Do we even know what the limiter speed is? I would think the trap is not going to be much over 100.

Looks like the tires might be limited for 112mph (for the all seasons), so that is likely the max.

I've heard the same thing about the "Mach E", power drop off, I assume, to prevent overheating, due to higher than desired amp draw?
Ford racers, had the same problems with the Ecoboost. The ECU pulled timing, due to higher than desired charge temperature. But, after a few mods and electronic tuning, they can run with the old school V8s.

Some thoughts on Lighting performance, based on what we observed with the influencer reviews.

Several of the drivers were able to get the front tires to break loose, since the engine is gone the weight over front end is lighter, several comments were made that front/rear weight distribution is more even than is the case with ICE 150's, so a slight optimization of power to the front motor would help maintain traction.
