The problem with front tires breaking traction under had acceleration is the weight shift (think drag racers popping wheelies). Adding more power to the front will only make it worse. Rwd under hard acceleration gets more traction due to weight shift. Fwd unweights the front wheels. More weight over the front could possibly help, but more power????

I know I come with a biased view (Tesla owner), but truly if this thing ever breaks a tire off the line or hard acceleration then Ford has work to do. I'm still trusting they will make adjustments, but this one should have been taken care of before it left the factory. If you are slipping a tire you are losing energy and speed.

Make no mistake there is still plenty of weight up front with the motor and the battery sitting between the front and rear wheels. Maybe not as much weight as with an ICE, but still plenty of weight.

On a different note I'm hoping with more EV's and Ford solidly in the field that TMS - Texas Motor Speedway will now let us on the track for special events. They won't let Tesla's on the track because they claim they don't know how to deal with an EV fire should one occur. Let's hope they get up to speed with the current decade.

Yes - FWD/RWD/AWD - it doesn't matter. Acceleration shifts the weight to the rear wheels and braking shifts it to the front.

I was thinking that balancing power front to back would optimize power to the ground. Should be easy to do with independent power delivery to front and back wheels as opposed to single engine driving through a transfer case, transmission and differential for ICE AWD. Just a programming problem versus mechanical problem.
BTW - my 575bhp 3800lb mt6 rwd will chirp all the way to 4th when hammered. Not the wisest choice but fun, occasionally.

Wheel standers did come to mind while I was composing the above comment.

Wheelie bars can help, but, not planning to make this a track only truck, it has to haul my motorcycle racing operation to the track. There is a fine balance of clearance to prevent wheel lift but not causing the rear drive wheel(s) to unload, I've seen cars and bikes completely leapfrog off the track!

I once saw a novice in a beautiful yellow viper go light through an uphill bend on a local road course and plow the infield grass. And saw a grown man cry.
I’d be a liar if I said I won’t jump on the truck sometime but I don’t make it a habit anymore to destroy mechanical stuff. I want 10+ years out of the Lightning.

Let's hope so, Loring Timing Association in Maine allows EV's

If each engine is rated at 271 hp and assuming they are delivering 100% of their rated power, you can’t shift additional power from the front to the rear. A chirp from the front tires is lost power. In the electric RC truck world one would add “punch control” to reduce how hard the power hits on initial acceleration, ramping up the power to 100% on a shallower curve to allow tires to hookup.
