In the truck software can we set a max charging rate? for instance 16 amps or 20 amps? Im concerned about tripping my breaker and wonder if I can set a max charge rate?

Not a max, nor a min, can be set in the truck (or Mach-E) software.

This is something that I really need because I'm not dealing with breaker capacity at my (off-grid) house but inverter capacity.

It is already slated to be added to a future software update. Just unsure of timing

Some (most?) EVSE chargers will allow you to set the max charging amperage, for example my Chargepoint Flex allows a max amperage settable in the app.

Seems like few EVs have this feature despite it being something you would think is a pretty obvious standard feature of a charging interface.

Selectable in most EVSEs (not the FMC, however) but not in the truck.

Im guessing I will have an issue with blowing my circuit breakers unless I can dial back on the max current pulled. I have an existing level 2 charger- charge point. Thanks for the suggestion in that perhaps the charger can dial back on max current. steve

Here is what I own.

I looked through my app and don't see a way to adjust.
That's the one. The Flex in the name derives from its flexible charging settings in software. The Home Flex has to be 'activated' to have the setting available. To change the setting, you may have to re-activate the charger to see it. It defaults to 16A output. There are FAQs about the process under Settings->Help->ChargePoint Home->ChargePoint Home Flex (iOS)

It's structured to complicate the process so that it is not easy to increase the amperage once set.

Wow.

My JuiceBox 48 lets me reset the amps in the app by simply typing them in. Takes less than 2 seconds.

To be clear, the ChargePoint is set on something. The truck can't pull more than that setting from it.
