Doesn’t the ER split the L2 charging between two inverters instead of the one on the SR? If so is it possible that one of the inverters is not working and that is why your Lightning is only charging at half speed?
With ER, full speed would 19.2KW. That only works if you use FCSP. With a typical 48A, you should be getting 11KW, which is already half speed.

First time charging. Lariat ER. I ran the battery down to 50%. I have an Emporia EV charger hardwired on a 60 amp circuit, set for 48 amps. My Emporia app is only showing a 24/25 amp draw and the charge rate is fluctuating. Garage is in the upper 60's temperature wise, just got back from a 50 mile drive about an hour and a half ago.

Now, thinking I had a problem with my Emporia EVSE, I plugged in the mobile charger on a 50 amp circuit. I can't tell how many amps are being provided, because Ford, in it's infinite wisdom, doesn't give us any information about anything, treating us like mushrooms. I did, however, notice that the time the truck estimated the charge will be done moved over 2 hours later. That tells me the mobile charger was providing less than the Emporia.

Anybody have any ideas? This lower rate is no problem now, but in the dead of winter with a 100 mile round trip commute in the snowy cold of Southern Michigan, and with a 12 hour cold soak exposed to the elements while I'm working, I don't think this charge rate will recover enough range in my 7 hour off-peak window.
Have you tried charging at some place away from your house, like some ChargePoint charger? Most of them are set to charge at 6.6KW, but some location with 2 plugs split in half, when both are in use.

Do you have an OBDII adaptor to connect to the vehicle? If so, go to Realtime Information and long press on the screen to add a sensor. You can then select the type of display and then the information to display.

If you have an extended-range battery, the OBD will only show half of the current if over 48 A.
I have 2 different adaptors. I'm sure 1 will work. I'm working the next 4 days so I'll see what I can do after work or my first day off to get one of them working.

I kind of had this thought too after sleeping on it. But can one charger charge the whole pack?

No. This is the very first time plugging the truck in.

I wish Ford gave more detailed charging information through the truck. My next step when I get time will be to put the truck on the mobile charger, open my panel up and put a clamp on ammeter on the leads to see what it's.

And since I wanted to take this on a long distance trip at the end of the month, I'm going to find a DC charger and see what it does.

When I first plugged it in last night around 6:30, I was at about 45 to 50% SOC. The dash said the truck would complete charging around 1am to 90%. Checking my Emporia app, it took until almost 4:30am to reach 90%.

What was your trucks battery percentage when you started charging and reading ~11kw?

It was near 90%.

My local utility company is down the street from me with free 6kw level2 charging , so early morning I will take some juice from them. But it wasn't going to finish in time, so I bought it home to get my full 11kw speed.

I wondered about how they work together. I think they work together to charge the whole pack.

To get the full 19.2 KWh into the ER battery, Ford has two separate inverters. Each inverter would handle 9.6 KWh. I’m not sure how they split the incoming power when it is less than 80 amps.
It would seem with 11.5 KWh (48 amps) they would split the load equally. This sort of seems like what is happening with @Pioneer74 charger but one side either isn’t charging or doesn’t charge at the full capacity. He saw a reduced charge rate with the mobile charger too.

Well, tried a DC fast charger on lunch. I had 58% SOC and it ramped up to 129kW almost immediately on a 150kW charger. Charged to 80% in around 18 minutes. So I'm thinking one of my AC chargers on the truck isn't working.

I also learned a few things. Electrify America is still free and pack temperature makes a huge difference. Starting cold on a 20 minute highway drive, averaging 72 MPH, I was getting 1.8 mi/kWh. After charging I averaged 2.3 mi/kWh on the return trip.

EA is free IF you find a charger that is having issues with the upgrade. Not all are.

Good to know. These must have been having issues. They had 2 350kW chargers. I wanted to try one, but the only one I could have used with my Lightning was down. The other was in a small spot next to a curb with a lot of rubber left on it.

Do you have any links or sites you would recommend to learn about the Torque app? @FlasherZ has a thread on here with some links, but some links are dead. I have Torque Pro installed, imported the Mach-E PID's, but I can't figure out how to set the dashboard up.
I’m not sure if this helps, but here is my post about my charge experience with the FCSP set at 80A . (https://www.f150lightningforum.com/...2022-f-150-lightning.10922/page-2#post-266262 ).

I had to use the CarScanner iApp to document my experience as TorquePro is Android-only. What I found interesting is I could only find one PID for reading the amperage requested/received by the Lightning’s two onboard 40A chargers, something @FlasherZ noted in his posts. I had to manually calculate the total amps being delivered (~72A until ~90% SoC) to see the total of the two….

I hope you’re able to figuire out your issue!
