This is really not needed and better to default to normal. Sport mode will reduce range too.
Defaulting to last used drive mode is a straight forward setting that should be implemented. Needing to reconfigure your truck at every startup (unless you remember to hit ok on the steering wheel within 5 seconds of turning on the truck) is a PIA.

If I want to reduce range in Sport mode, that is my choice. I pay $0.07/kW, I'm not concerned (currently) about hypermiling or squeezing every last inch out of my range. I want to enjoy my drive/ride. If I'm roadtripping or wanting to conserve range, I have the option to change it.

I have a bit of a list after using the truck for a few months. Higher priority items are on the top.
  • Allow Onboard power to be turned on for a period of time with the vehicle off and locked (say configurable from 1/2 to 10 hours). If I want to run into a restaurant, I want to be able to leave my cooler plugged in and running in the frunk with the truck off and locked. Same with the bed power. I don't want my truck on, unlocked, and running for the day when I'm running in and out of the building to use a power tool once every 15 minutes.
  • Walk away lock - Every other vehicle that has proximity-based keys has this feature. Even the Mach-E has this.
  • Separate approach lighting and retractable running boards. I like approach lighting but have to turn it off since it drops the running boards every time I walk by my truck like it is trying to flap its wings and fly. Running boards should only deploy when you grab the handle. Approach lighting is only needed when it is dark out.
  • Ability to see the maximum charge rate the truck is requesting when DC fast charging. This way we can tell if slow charging is the truck or the charger. Hopefully it is the charger but it would be very helpful to know so you don't leave a bad rating on a good charge station when the truck is slow and you can leave a confident rating when you know the truck is asking for twice as much as the charger is giving.
  • Ability to limit the charge input for charging on reduced capacity outlets while using level 1 and level 2 charging. Sometimes I need to charge on 30-amp circuits and the Ford portable charger draws 32 amps kicking out breakers.
  • Standard dashcam functions with the available cameras.
  • Default drive mode by driver profile
  • Default radio station/volume by driver profile (nice to have so I don't have to listen to my wife's pop station when she drove last - ugh)
  • Ability to prioritize phone connections when multiple keys are available. ie. If my key is in the truck, I'm the driver, not my wife.
  • Ability to see the lock status of the vehicle on the FordApp - ie, if it is locked - show it is locked.
  • Put a search function on the FordApp Owner's manual. It is very tedious to sift through the long headings list looking for something (hence why they put an index on paper manuals).

Since our '22 and '23 trucks won't get Dashcam/Sentry support, mine would be:

- A better generator mode
- Pet Mode
- not having to reselect drive mode everytime we turn the truck on
- Battery Percentage on cluster outside of calm screen
- more features/interactivity with the app (more Pro Power control, Frunk Button, 1 time charge settings, 1 time preconditioning settings, remote climate control...etc)
One time preconditioning settings are a great suggestion. For people without regular departure times, preconditioning is a slog.

Can't you do this today?

I just tried in mine, and I can get out of the car, lock it, and the onboard power is still on. Yes, car has to be "running", but you can lock the door when its running.

Are you saying it times out after some duration?

In order to use it, you have to activate the onboard power and then shut everything off since I can't turn off the ignition. The ignition also lights up some 30 computer modules, lights etc., most of which are not needed unless you are driving and you can't turn those off. The onboard power should be independent of the ignition and all associated power consumption needed for driving. A timer was a suggestion. Ideally, if Ford implements onboard power without needing to turn on all additional accessories/modules, a timeout would prevent it from staying on and draining the HV battery when it is not in use. The ideal scenario is to allow the Onboard power to be switched on/off in the bed and frunk when you need it without needing to leave the whole truck on. Power off after, 15,30,45,60 minutes if there is no power draw from the outlets to keep from draining the HV battery unnecessarily. Having the whole truck on to operate the Pro Power makes little sense to me with all of the additional unnecessary electrical draw. The only module that needs to be active at a job site is the Pro Power inverter and associated control module.

Here are my top 3

Dashcam - We have cameras everywhere, not having a dashcam feature seems like a big miss. The built-in dashcam in my friends Tesla recently saved him from an enormous at-fault insurance claim. Having to buy a third party dashcam (for front and rear) is a pain...

Sentry Mode - Similar to dashcam, but different. Hopefully obvious.

Cast/Airplay support - When parked, let us use this gorgeous screen please. It would be so nice to do this as Airplay/Cast instead of wasting time on individual apps.
Dog Mode. PLEASE.

No, it won’t. If you accelerate and decelerate at the same rate, the efficiency will be the same regardless of mode.
If you drive more aggressively, range is affected.
Big IF. But sport mode isn't for efficiency, it's for a more spirited driving experience.

Honestly, I would prefer a physical button for sport mode. I used it in my "old" gasser for passing all the time and just plain fun once and a while. Quick press and you're off.

The current toggle is annoying but I've never needed to have it on all the time.

For all those requesting Dog/Pet Mode, the good news is Ford has already stated that is coming out in a future update!

I get what you're saying - but in all likelihood the drain from all of those lights and modules is going to be absolutely inconsequential.

Here are what use major energy in your truck

- The drivetrain
- The heaters
- The Inverter (when in use)
- HVDC Battery management system
- Headlights

Everything else uses relatively nothing. It is not going to matter much for your HVDC use if the truck is "running" or not as long as you don't have the heat and headlights on. And there is already a configurable shut off to shut off the generator at a certain reserve percentage range.
