Prepare to be scared! It does ok, but it moves the vehicle quite fast and too close for my comfort. It took a couple tries before I let it actually finish a park job without intervening, and even then I was thinking I might regret not taking over. It is better for my stress level to park the vehicle myself.

Hehe, ok! I remember years ago, letting our ole Honda Odyssey park itself in a tight area of Galveston Texas and it was INCHES from the other cars and very tall curb, but did a nice job. Truck is a whole other animal :)

Never tried it in either our Lightning or Mach-e. The one time I thought about trying it (in the Mach-e), we had someone behind us and I didn't want to take the time to futz with it and annoy them.

Park assist and trailer backup assist are 2 features I've never used. Never used the trailer assist on my old f150 either.

Tried the park assist once, it was a waste of time but if you don't know how to backup or park it's great.

Demonstrated when I test drove mine with salesman. Definitely takes a little to get used to. The driver controls the speed with the brake and lets the vehicle steer. He said he had a gal test driving try the parking. She didn’t realize she had to use the brake and he said they parked at 10 mph and he thought they were going to crash but she made it in.

I used the park assist a few time in my driveway when my truck space was between my BMW and my stepdaughter's VW... It struggled a bit to see the open space but parked well when it did. Having to drive slowly by the open space with the turn signal on doesn't seem like the easiest approach while driving down the street and scanning for an open space... do you turn on your turn signal and just start driving slowly until it sees a space because it's not that often in my experience that you get a lot of notice that a space is available ahead.

Tried both the park assist and the trailer backup assist, I'd rather do it myself thank you very much!

It needs two cars to park. I will never park between two cars. The truck is too wide for that.
I wish it would look at the lines on the parking lot to park.

We've had Park Assist on 5 or 6 different vehicles and never used it once.

Maybe that was my problem—I didn’t realize I was supposed to operate the brake. Although I instinctively hit the brake when it proceeded to try and park like Bo and Luke Duke in the General Lee!

Got very sunburnt

Instinctual reaction is also why you have to hold the park button. If it goes wrong, you let go as if it were hot!

Trailer backup assist is a feature that you should try, when you have the chance. If you need to backup a trailer on a long driveway / alley, it will do better than you.

Also, if you know how it works, you can show someone. Have that spouse that can't backup a trailer? Now they can.

It needs two cars to park. I will never park between two cars. The truck is too wide for that.

Not correct. It needs ONE other vehicle, not two.

Maybe that was my problem—I didn’t realize I was supposed to operate the brake. Although I instinctively hit the brake when it proceeded to try and park like Bo and Luke Duke in the General Lee!
This is a great reason to either read the manual or watch a video of the feature in use, so that you properly understand how it works.

I don't use Park Assist for the following reasons:

1) With the 360 degree camera, I don't see the need.

2) Rarely do I perpendicular park next to any vehicles. If there's an empty area, I go there. It won't park there. While it can be helpful for parallel parking, I rarely parallel park.
