Update 3: Service advisor contacted me today and told me the battery came in today 10/18/23 and they should be able to repair the truck and get it back to me by Friday! I was pleasantly surprised that it came in less than 2 weeks, maybe because this was a brand new truck and given that I escalated the issue to the BEV teams might be why I got the battery so quickly.

As far as compensation for the time in the shop, the BEV team offered to pay for my first truck payment which is nice. I also wanted to ask for some ford pass points or extended warranty since this issue was discovered so early.

Has anybody had any luck getting ford pass points or a extended warranty as far as reimbursement for this claim?
How long did it take for the battery to get to the dealer? I am one week into waiting for a battery module.

I was towing my airstream a short distance to prepare for this weekend’s trip and received a powertrain malfunction/reduced power error. My power was reduced to 53% and I had to limp home at 15mph. This my second occurrence on the truck about a year apart from the first repair.

When I got home, I power cycled the truck and no errors returned. I need to understand at what point will this truck die and if I need to take it in before I tow again.

Good morning! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your concerns on my end.

Scary - Glad you were able to limp home

Still no battery to the dealer. The dealership says there is no way to track what the ETA of the battery module is to the dealership. Called the BEV team and said they would try and have an answer by MOnday on when I can expect the battery. I am a Aug 22 build (for the tracker).

When I had it done, they ordered it on a Monday or Tuesday and had it by end of day Friday. They told me it was a blackbox on the status, because they were kept in the dark. They said the part just shows up and then they have to figure out which customer it is for. Even the Ford rep handling my case couldn't see the status. Work with @Ford Motor Company if you aren't already. They will assign an case and someone from their team will work with you and the dealer to get it as expedited as they can.

Taking the lightning in Monday.

I got the dreaded "Powertrain Malfunction/Reduced Power" Alert at around 950 miles on the odometer. I had the code pulled prior to dropping it off at my local dealership which was Code: U3513 - High Voltage System Interlock Circuit 'B' Low. I have not had any power drop yet. Very disappointing.

2023 Platinum Lightning with under 1k miles

What does this code usually mean? What usually needs to be replaced?

It’s related to defective HVB module(s).

If it’s accurate you will likely have to have a module replaced.

I love the truck but this is starting to be concerning how widespread these issues are. Made contact with @FordMotorCompany and have a case #, hoping this will help things along. the 2.7 ecoboost XL rental is not cutting it for me.

4% may involve a module concern.

what is that based on? Polling on the forum or from ford? Not discrediting or saying its wrong, just curious where it comes from? Our fleet has 12 lightnings and 3 have had battery modules replaced. two were built on the same timeframe the other was built nearly 10 months later.

Well the only thing the BEV team and a case number did for me was offer to pay for a rental truck (which I do appreciate). My service manager called me everyday to give me status saying no ETA on parts, which is the same thing the BEV team told me. Not sure of the value there. Ultimately this last module replacement only took 22 days, which I guess I'm happy about.
