I disagree. The Lightning is one of their flagship models, it should get this. Also, this has pictures, that is new news. They don't list models with it included. They are now 2 years late for the Lightning. They promised it in '23. So currently it is nothing more than old news.
https://fordauthority.com/2024/01/next-generation-ford-infotainment-system-officially-revealed/new software is now slated to debut in select Ford and Lincoln models this year, including the redesigned 2024 Lincoln Nautilus, as well as the forthcoming refreshed Lincoln Aviator and Ford Explorer crossovers.
2/1/21When and what did Ford promise for the Lightning in regards to this? Link?
All of this looks to be the infotainment that will be in new models, starting with the Lincoln Nautilus. I highly, highly doubt any of this will come to our Lightnings. That would be a retroactive OS replacement for our infotainment. I've never heard of such a thing happening.
You're probably right. But some of the images from the article are showing Sync4 hardware... there's a slim chance they back fill it to us, but Ford would rather see us buy a new T3 than make us happy with the LT we already have.Interesting. Hadn't seen that. I highly doubt any Lightning will get Android Automotive OS. Next generation will probably be the first. That would be a big mid cycle refresh.
Whatever 10 year old CPU they used to run the Sync 4A system couldn't handle that Unreal engine-based OS.You're probably right. Ford has already said it won't be added to prior years. You're probably right. But some of the images from the article are showing Sync4 hardware... there's a slim chance they back fill it to us, but Ford would rather see us buy a new T3 than make us happy with the LT we already have.
