Powertrain Malfunction/ Reduced Power

Update, on Monday, I called the Ford battery team (800-392-3673) and found out that my battery module was indeed delivered to the dealer - however the deal will not have a certified tech to install it for 10 days! My $100K brick is there - Ford did agree to reimburse me for a rental car as the dealer did not have any loaners available... I will keep you all posted...
Update on Friday April 4- Ford battery team called the dealer today who said they would have my battery issue corrected, but would not have time to correct all the recall issues. They first said they had all the parts, then when I pressed them to get me the truck back as soon as the battery was fixed, their story changed to "we are waiting for parts". I don't know what to believe. I expect to have my truck back this afternoon - 17 days after the battery fault and the dealer took it in. I will see what they fixed when I get it back...

I'll chime in here with my report. I'm not optimistic. I got the dreaded Service Vehicle Soon with power limited to 57%. Pulled DTC and it was Code: P0B24 - Hybrid/EV Battery 'A' Voltage Unstable
.....
Update @GoodSam. Went into shop Tuesday 4/2. According to Mike G. battery pinpoint test was done Wednesday. Dealer just told me they were discussing with Ford. Dealer confirms today Module 6 has a bad cell. Hope to have repaired by end of next week. 7500 miles. Build date 9/12/22.

Update
Truck returned on time last Friday after 17 days in the shop and now charging normally. I got a call from Ford who has been on top of the dealer and keeping me informed. I have not seen the work order describing what work was completed, but it looks like they replaced the dead battery module, and completed all of the outstanding recall items. Ford said they will pay for my rental car while the truck was waiting service - I should expect a check in 7 days.
While disappointed at the lack of available technicians in my rural dealership, I am happy with how Ford worked to keep me informed, pay for my rental and work with the dealer to my satisfaction. I hope I don't have another battery issue, but if I do, I will call around the dealers to see who has an available tech to work on my truck.

Keep an eye on the cooling bottle to make sure they were able to get all of the air out of the cooling system. Glad to read your report.

Hello everybody!
With only 36,000 miles on my '23 Pro SR, I just learned that I have a dead cell within one of my battery modules! It all started with I got a Charge Fault alert last week when attempting to charge the vehicle. Went from bad to worse pretty quickly... Now it won't charge at all! Additionally, I started receiving performance powertrain alert messages and Air Dam alert message. I'm seeing postings were folks are having similar issues. Truck is in the shop, no idea of how long it's going to be in there. Could be months.

Wondering if anyone out there has gotten this issue? How long it take to get to root cause and resolution?

Thanks!

Is this truly only a 4% issue? Is it a matter of when not if you will have to replace battery modules?
Even then, it's too early to say whether this year it's one module and the next modules fail over the next years? Such a nice truck but damn........

That was the projection back when the issue was detected, who knows for certain what the actual outcome has been.

Truck is fixed, took 30 days and they never told me what was wrong with it so that I could work on getting a loaner.

Today marks day 43 in the shop in 13 months. Day 20 since dropped off at the dealer with the power malfunction error. Ford has at this time denied my buyback and stated they will wait until the battery module is replaced then make a decision. Only info I’m getting from free dealer is this will take some time…

While I've been waiting for my truck, the dealers put me in rentals. I couldn't stand driving around in the F-150 XLT I.C.E. truck and even worse they tried to put me in a in Nissan Altima! After raising my concerns all the way up to Ford executive and regional levels, and connected with a supervisor on the BEV Team, they (Dealer) put me in a loaner Mach-e. it only has 5000 miles, but I didn't find that thing very comfortable, but better than rentals.

The good news is a got my truck back today!! I was completely shocked that I got my truck back in less than 10 days! They replaced module 8. It only took 3 days to get the replacement module, and less than a day to install it! The electrical tech even sent a video showing the battery pack, lowered from my truck, the old module and the new module.

Day 3 the dealer sent me a spreadsheet that showed the voltage read out of every cell throughout the entire battery pack. When I was told the truck was ready, I requested a new spreadsheet reporting the cell read out with the new module.

It seems new module has made a significant difference to the overall voltage. The failed cell was reporting 3.66v, the rest of the cells were reporting an average of 3.74v. After the module was replaced, all the cells are reporting over 3.9v.

I don't have any more error messages, no alerts on the app. It appears to be everything appears to have been addressed. Of course, I'm gonna be paying extra close attention to the vehicle over these next few days and weeks to see if everything is truly copacetic! And of course, I'll let everybody know if this thing turns sideways on me!!

New to the forum, having just bought my '23 Lariat ER this past Friday. Sadly, I think I win the award for shortest time without an issue. I got the Powertrain Malfunction within 24 hours of purchase, along with a parking sensor failure. Dealer confirmed a battery module needed replacing, and quoted 7-10 days for parts. No loaner. Told me they would cover a portion of the rental, but that it had to be a Ford and that I was responsible for all taxes and fees. Gave me the number for Ford Customer Service and they were horrible--read straight from a script telling me they couldn't help, and only the dealer could determine loaner or rental arrangements. I'm pissed. Too soon to initiate the buyback process, considering their standard protocol appears to be denying it the first time around?
