That update will be followed up by ECG-24.2.5.6.2. Release notes say:

"A technical adjustment improves the way your vehicle receives and transmits software, resulting in a more dependable update experience."

Some people in the F150 forum reported getting them back-to-back the same day.

These are supposed to reduce the chance of a vehicle getting bricked during an OTA. Good stuff in this one.

Are these just for ‘23’s like all of the updates recently? My ‘22 hasn’t had anything since March.

Not sure on that yet. The few F150's that reported getting it yesterday were 2023. It'll trickle down to other years, I'm sure.

So.... not an up-date. But a fix-up. Ford engineers must be so jealous of Tesla engineers, not having to figure out how to keep dozens of chip-modules happy, just one unified architecture!

I'll be happy when my lef-side speakers don't randomly not go on. But resume the next time the truck is started.

Sounds good, thanks for the clarification and what to expect next. I’ll gladly take all the good, non bricking updates that come my way.

I got this update tonight while grabbing dinner. Honestly surprised with the wave of 3 or so updates in the past month although I can't say I've noticed any feature changes.

I was on the phone yesterday with Ford BEV Engineering Support concerning getting CSP 23B57 installed on my 2023 Lightning and they told me that the ECG-24.2.4.10 update just distributed changes the packet size of the updates being sent to avoid errors on the previously used larger packet sizes over the cellular network used to communicate with the trucks.

They also told me they stopped distributing CSP 23B57 Over The Air because of its size causing these issues that ECG-24.2.4.10 is supposed to address. Where the trucks were left in a disabled performance state until you went to the dealer. You currently can ONLY get CSP 23B57 installed at a dealer after they run a diagnostic on your BMS and installed batteries. I am scheduled for Saturday Aug 24th to have this done.

Everyone should check on the FordPass APP to see if you are eligible for CSP 23B57.

I got this update yesterday late afternoon/early evening. Did not get the follow-up. This is the first update I've received in months.

Thanks for the details on why this gateway update was necessary (packet size), as that same issue has resulted in a pant-load of '23/'24 Mach-Es locking out their owners, and in one case a forum member had to call the fire department to break a window so she could get her kids out of the back seats. She exited car at a store and the doors locked before she could get the kids out.

So MMEs are also now getting a "ECG-24.2.4.10" and it's possible it's for the same reason. The issue of getting locked out on the MME is a bit more serious since when the car locks you out you can't use a key blade to just unlock one of the front doors.....there aren't any external door lock cylinders to stick a key into.

I'm glad to see that the '23 Lightnings are finally getting some updates (specifically the gateway module) and I've very hopefull that we'll see the '22 models getting some love soon, but I can tell you that as of today the notice posted on 6 May about the pause on 23B57 is still in effect.

So does your dealer service advisor have special info that's not posted on PTS/OASIS?

Obviously if they've got you penciled in for a date next week they may have info that the rest of us don't have.
