Wow. Kinda heart broken here. I'm one month in on my ER. I have an active reservation for a standard but was unable to change it to ER so I found one on another lot with no markup. Scooped it up when I should have taken it as a sign that the guy who reserved that one, walked away.

I just wish everything wasn't driven by the government rebates. I'm used to seeing manufacturer's rebates or price adjustments ($5000, $7500, $10000 off), but that has always been off the original MSPR. The original value/MSPR of the truck (or any vehicle) was always the same, some just got a better deal (discount) depending on when they purchased (typically better deals closeer to the end of that model year). But when they decide to lower MSPR, like they did, I am out $10,000 plus a $5000 government rebate (I'm up in Canada) AND my truck is actually worth significantly less than I paid for it 20 days ago. I'm really hoping Ford does a goodwill refund similar to what they did for the Mach-E.

Doesn't make sense that trucks sitting on a dealer's lots (and we have a ton in Canada) that were built and shipped before my truck can now simply print a new window sticker with a reduced MSPR. Those trucks would have cost the same to build as mine. Interesting side note, I am no longer able to view my truck's original window sticker with the MSPR online (FordDirect.com), which I could see right up until they announced the price adjustment. Wonder if the system is screwed up now/confused with the lower MSRP's, or maybe there is something in the works from Ford to help out those of us that paid higher prices (fingers crossed).

I took delivery less than a week before the price cut, and haven’t even come close to 1000 miles yet on the truck. The dealer just called offering to take the truck back and refund the money due to the price cut (I assume Ford must be willing to cut them a check for the difference when they resell it). I have the Home Integration System installed, and ready to pair with the truck, and I don’t think they would want to buy that back too. I would think it is in Ford’s best interest to work something out with its customers to keep a satisfied and loyal customer base to help build momentum on this great new vehicle.

Let them have it back. If they cannot "resell" you the same truck at the new MSRP, then order a new one. You will be out a few months. Of course, I re-ordered the next morning after announcement, and am hoping it will cost me only a few months. In my case, I was now able to get a Lariat ER under the 80k, so I don't want the truck I ordered anymore in March.......

Why pass this by? Take them up on it - the difference is enough to pay for the HIS. Maybe they will work out a second sale to you at the better price. Or just go elsewhere an buy a new one with the new MSRP and likely rebate eligible.

Anyone who can back out of the old pricing on a Lariat ER absolutely should. That's almost $16K in savings assuming you qualify for the federal rebate. We all presumably waited 12+ months for our trucks, what's an extra month or two when you can save some serious cash.

I am so upset by this, especially after knowing @Ford Motor Company didn't make a quick decision and this price drop was months in the making and they let all of us 2023 buyers pay more for the vehicle than they know it is worth and that they raised the price knowing the IRA would make us ineligible for the tax rebate. I really hope they do the right thing to 2023 buyers and give us a rebate so we pay what the vehicle use to cost when they rolled out the pricing. We are looking at the Mach-e and other EVs in the future but I am so upset with Ford right now, this truck could be my last Ford vehicle. It is worth spending $10K per 2023 Lightning sold to satisfy their loyal customers!

Cash rebate is out of the question. That would be $$$$. Wall Street would hit Ford for that. However, throwing us a bone like offering lifetime subscription services (nav, Blue cruise, XM, etc.) or Ford Pass points would be the least Ford should do.

This happened on the Mach E in February 2023.

Upset a lot of folks who bought at the higher price on/before December 31 2022 but they got the FULL tax credit ($7500).

Those that bought in January / February did get a refund check (half) and Ford Pass points (half) for the price drop. Those people and me included are only eligible for HALF tax credit.

I think Ford should do something to those that bought a Lightning recently - like half refund half points - how far back? - can't say...

I really hope they can possibly do this for everyone retroactively. If they won't rebate me anything for the Lariat, w/e, but being eligible for federal tax credits would be massive.

I know earlier in this thread, taxman said it could be possible (but not that Ford would). Fingers crossed we get some word soon.

Stopped at the dealership I got my Mach-e from in 2021 to drive a Lightning XLT in the color I want. It was very impressive and much faster then the Mach-e Premium RWD I have. It was a ST which is a no go as I'm not getting anything again with less then 300 miles range. After 2 years and 27k miles we like the electric route enough to trade both the Mach-e and my 2014 RAM 1500 in on and XLT ER. We were please with the better screen and actual physical controls. Short bed will take some getting use too, but it will be easier then my long bed to park for sure.

It's a long shot but cmon Ford, throw us a bone. I believe anyone that purchased at higher adjusted values should get something and at the least 2023 buyers. It'd be great if they adjusted reproduced everyone's vin/sticker price to reflect the lower rates and if gets some of us closer to that rebate

Does IRS track vin's to determine who is NOT eligible for federal $7500? If not, those who paid old > $80k MSPR for ER might have a chance to claim $7500 back.

They will receive the VIN's from the dealers and cross match them to claims for the credit which also includes the VIN, where a match fails, an adjustment of the tax return will occur either immediately during processing or at the latest within the three years of the statute of limitations on "audits" and "math adjustments"!!

What I find somewhat ironic is that when they reduced Mach E prices, Mike Lavine announced the rebates and told people on Twitter "Don't other EV makers do this?" and yet here we are a few months later and it turns out Ford is very much like Tesla in that regard.

Someone posted on Reddit about the chances of a rebate and is getting grief for it, and I agree with commenter's in that I think with nothing announced in a timely fashion that they won't do anything. This will be the way of EVs, make sure you have Gap insurance.
