There's a lot of entitlement going on about ordering order equating to production ordering. There's a lot of variables that go into stuff like this.

Ford knows what they're doing for production, and are making decisions based on information that is not public, such as what components are available, what other vehicles are being produced, etc. There's no real conspiracy out there to delay people's vehicles.

How are components available on trucks being Produced after mine while my truck sits in a parking lot waiting for the same Micro chip that was installed in the trucks produced after mine ? Can't seem to find a straight answer.

@Ford Motor Company Why are some trucks from later build dates delivered but mine still isn’t out of production? It isn’t just me, either. Why doesn’t anyone have any answers for those of us with stuck trucks?
My May 2021 Mach-E finally went into production on 1/19/22. It didn't finish production until 3/1/22. It then sat on a lot in Mexico for over 2 months (NOT chip hold), because Ford follows the FILO method of accounting (First In, Last Out). It was received at the dealer in mid-May 2022, 1.6 weeks short of a year. What Lightning orders are experiencing is not new, not unexpected, and not out of normal. As well, the lack of communication from Ford corporate, combined with systems that provide differing, and inaccurate data, is also not unexpected.

The INTENT is there. The systems, and perhaps sometimes the organization, prevent it from executing to the level that it, and we, desire.

I have been following this forum because we are thinking about ordering a Lightning. I am amazed at the difficulty that many of you are having with your deliveries although I don’t think this is uncommon across vehicle brands. I am currently an owner of a new Jeep Wrangler Plug in Hybird and learned something from my dealership about order pecking order. My dealer is number two in the midAtlantic states for “sold build orders” and as a result, assuming the parts are available, he goes “to the front percentage” for vehicle build. I followed a similar forum for Jeep hybrids and heard the same stories about waiting a year to have builds completed. From the day I ordered to delivery to me was three months so there must be some truth to what he said. You might want to check with your dealer to see where they stand.

Hats off to the entire Lightning team @Ford Motor Company for working on a Sunday - Holiday weekend!

Just got the Ford email assigning my build as BUILT.

Didn't think my Lariat would be built so soon!

From April invite to May VIN to June build/blend to July built = AMAZING.

Looks like mid July delivery to So Cal !

The Ford team out monitoring and interacting with us here are 1 of 2 things, either they aren't connected and don't have real information or they just aren't allowed to give it if they are. Truly my money is on number 1.

The other part that I figured we'd see right away is that Farley doesn't really care either. He knows he is chasing Tesla, he talks about it, he wants to be that nimble, but he doesn't embrace the current way. I truly don't like Twitter, but that is the way to show you are listening - or just throw out a bone to say you are aware things hit a bump in late May but we'll have them back on track in 4 weeks, etc. That is how you show you don't have anything to hide and you are listening. He doesn't have to send the actual tweet, he has enough right hand generals that one could send an update or two.

I figure the other thing is that their hands may be tied by Unions, etc, to give too much information.

The Union cannot stop the company from releasing information.

You guys are looking for information that Ford doesn't have. Why are trucks on a chip hold sitting in a lot while new, complete trucks are rolling off the line? Because they can. It is happening with every product in the lineup.

So it seems like we're seeing some orders go from build week to delivered in about a month. My build date is 7/12, hoping for delivery in the first half of August. Guess we'll find out!

I’m guessing @Ford Motor Company is spending more time here than the Mach-E forum where there’s lots of people unhappy about the lack of repair for the HVBJB issue in their cars.

Funny you mentioned this - I hang out at the MachE forum because I am waiting for my wife's MME to get built.

Ordered both the Lightning and MME at the same time in April and got my Lightning built as of 7/2/22.

But my wife's MME has not progressed since April.

So instead, I got this from Ford this week:

Wow, every 45 days? I think they’re holding the cars the recall, but could be wrong. That’s some wait. We have a GTPE and it’s a great car, just a bit annoyed they won’t replace the HVBJB unless your’s bricks.

Yah, every 6 weeks I'll get notified of the delays.
Wonder if the 2022 MME order becomes MY'23 ?

Also, what is the HVBJB issue with the MME - is that the battery contactor issue ?
