Ford recommends service every 9-10k miles i believe, which is basically nothing but tire rotation, because i took it for service and they charged me $90 to rotate tires and check coolant.

Since alot of people i know dont take their EVs for any kind of service, my question is, can ford void warranty if there's ever an issue in future for not getting recommended service

$90 to rotate tires and check coolant? Surely an independent mechanic can do it for a more reasonable price than that.

From what I've heard, you don't have to take your vehicle to a dealer for service, but you should get the recommended service done somewhere and save the receipts. If you don't, warranty claims are likely to be denied if the dealer can find any excuse to link the problem which needs to be fixed with a lack of service. They probably can't deny a problem with the infotainment screen because of not having rotated the tires, but I wouldn't be confident that they wouldn't try...

In the US, we have something called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act which states that it isn't legal to require service at a dealership to keep the warranty. I assume there's a similar law for our friends to the North, where you seem to have slightly better consumer protections in most cases, don't you?

I'm no expert, and hopefully people with more detailed knowledge can share it.

That is a horrible price for the 10k mile service. My dealer just raised the price from $20 to $35 and I thought that was nuts.

I'm due for a 20k service anytime now (FP wants me to schedule now). But since I only recently got new Toyo AT III EV tires they aren't due for rotation yet, and I've checked the fluids and do all of my own software updates. So. I guess my dealer can get credit for the IPMA and FHCM update FSAs and sign me off. The 10k cost me $35 if I remember right. I don't think I even got new wiper blades out of that deal. 😆

As I understand, at least in the USA, you can do the scheduled service yourself.
You should keep a log of what you did, the date and the mileage.

I’m confused why anybody’s paying for service this soon the warranty includes recommended services and tire rotation until three years or 50,000 miles or something like that I think. I’ve had mine in twice and didn’t pay a penny.

Here we go again.

Bring it in for service or don't.

Complain about the price or complain they can't look at your truck for 6 weeks.

I spent a lot of money on this truck, service 2 times a year isn't going to break the bank.

I have a good relationship with my dealer, they check alignment every service and wash it to boot.

I use those service appointments to discuss warranty issues and have csp's done.

Anyone who says ev's don't need service is a tool. They generally require less service. You can run anything without caring for it but you'll end up surprised one day.
I’m confused
You paid for it upfront, it's not included in the standard warranty.

Ford offers roadside assistance, but not free service. You not paying anything is your dealer being reasonable ( or they baked in the cost of service to your purchase and now offer it for "free" ).

Mine was $15 at my 30k service, I'm ok with that. Discount Tire will rotate tires for free. I took it there for my 10k, but felt bad about getting it for free so I paid $40 to have them balance too. :D

I didn’t even buy mine new. I got used after 6000 miles and I didn’t even buy it from the Ford dealership that’s doing the service work for free. I guess I’ll just count my blessings. :)

There is nothing in the maintenance schedule that would impact the warranty in the first few years. I do all maintenance myself and keep records. Never a warranty issue. I had to replace my cabin filter this year.....

Crap I haven't found the refill port for the blinker fluid yet and I am at 8k miles. Is there one for the front and a separate one for the rear?

The only thing that usually voids a warranty is when the vehicle is issued a salvage title. Ford refusing to cover a specific repair under warranty is something different. In this case they would have to prove that failure to follow Ford's maintenance schedule caused or resulted in that specific problem.

Not rotating tires isn't going to cause something on the truck to fail. Not checking coolant level could cause a failure indirectly, but Ford would have to prove that the coolant was low when it should have been checked and that would have led to repairing a leak before it caused damage.

Discount Tire will rotate your tires for free.
