I was browsing through the Connected Services of Ford Pass and noticed that Nav was now available for renewal. I can only “Manage” all the other Connected Services.

As stated elsewhere it’s $80 for adding 1 year to your account. And you can use FordPass points. I have 90 points so that is a whole $0.45 credit! (And no I haven’t hit “Buy Now” yet - this is an informational post.)

Cue the folks who want us to know nav is trash, they will never pay, and CarPlay / AA is the only thing they need.

Noticed the same on my account, no action taken until the deadline is pending.

Hey FoMoCO, want more to advance buy-in's, promise to expedite BC 1.xx to those customers first.

{* understanding the BlueCruise and Connected Nav are distinct services, but still a little bone to potential buyers might help you sell these services}

$80 for a feature that it is basically nonfunctional!? Sure it’s a map but well over half the best chargers don’t show up and the ones that do have no real information about the site besides if in use. I learned very quickly PlugShare and ABRP are the way to go

One thing I found on my gas F150 was that the smart trailer routing was locked behind the connected nav subscription and when it expired you couldn’t edit trailer weight information.

the problem with that is that every time a trailer is connected the nav system constantly beeps at you with weight limit warnings because it doesn’t know how heavy your load is. Extremely annoying! And there’s no way to turn it off without paying.

It's pretty functional (based on 97k miles on our two Ford EVs). The horizontal bottom bar has quite a bit of on-the-fly customizable information for longer trips. Also, only the NAV will pre-condition our traction batteries for a faster DC charge session during longer trips, in my experience.

It is true that the Tesla Supercharger network is still (!) only partially listed. Might have much more to do with not fully consummated Tesla / Ford corporate negotiations than with the Ford NAV itself.

My biggest annoyance is if you’re trying to navigate somewhere while driving, I can just say to my phone hey siri take me here and nine times out of 10 it knows what I’m saying Ford pops up with 20 different options. None of them actually being the place that I wanted. you have to pull over park and type in the address. (after googling it first, of course)

There's a way to touch-&-go on the NAV while You're driving. I learned it after a time... also to select the charging station strength category. Play with it when the truck is stationary and...

Does anyone know if there are plans for preconditioning to work via Apple Car Play/Apple Maps, or ideally Google Maps via CarPlay? Currently it seems that you can't precondition before charging in the Apple ecosystem, so maybe connected nav is worth it in that case??

I want to believe this is true, but I am skeptical. Can you convince me?
I used it in the last week, and it worked. Also have several instances of navigation with AA and the estimated SOC have been close and a bit conservative. Meaning estimated 48% SOC on arrival of a 100ile drive, and actual SOC arrival 50%. I'm good with it being conservative. So far IMHO AA integration is quit good.
