I have seen in some threads that some don't use the 1 pedal driving and I wonder why. I took a 60 mile drive yesterday and only had to use my breaks twice. At the rate I will likely never have to do a brake job. Plus a little energy recovered.

Old dogs, new truck.

Using two pedal mode still uses regen braking. Unless you are super aggressive with the brake pedal you should get the same brake maintenance benefit from 2PD as you do with 1PD.

Because my SO doesn't like it. If I turn it on, then she has to turn it off. LOL. On the other hand, when using BC, I like to push the envelope and speed up a bit when it backs off due to a car in my lane. If 1PD is on, as soon as you then release, you start to decelerate. Minor annoyance, i know

I prefer the level of control two pedals gives me. I rarely brake hard enough to engage the friction brakes either. Most of the time I only need the brake pedal to come to a complete stop (from around 5mph).

The other thing I really like is the ability to creep forward without using the throttle.

Keeping in mind that I do not have a Lightning yet, so have never had the opportunity to drive a vehicle with 1 pedal mode. However once I do, I will drive multiple vehicles that are all 2 pedal vehicles. In an emergency I don't want to have to think which vehicle I'm in and how to panic stop.

I get the same regen so there's no reason to use 1 PD unless you prefer it. I don't and I'm super happy that Ford gave us the option to use 2 PD.

I'm extremely conscientious when I drive my wife's car, it's rare that I do so I understand your concern.

When I got my 2022 Pro I didn’t use 1pd because I was driving dozens of different vehicles monthly for work and didn’t want to end up confusing myself. Fast forward to 2024 when we purchased a Tesla and there is only 1pd, on my new 2024 Flash I’m only using 1pd. I don’t find that I have a problem transitioning back to any of my ICE vehicles.

Same here.

I occasionally drive an old stick shift Toyota truck at work and my wife's ICE Highlander.

Zero issues transitioning from 1pd to the stick shift. It's too different of an experience to get confused.

Usually the first time I let off the gas pedal in the Highlander and realize that I am not slowing, the 2 pedal driving comes right back. The body/brain connection adjusts to 1pd/2pd switch pretty seamlessly.
