How about this:

Ford+

$20/mo includes BlueCruise, Hotspot and Connected Services (e.g. YouTube over cellular)

Razor thin margins but at that price point the subscriber base would be huge.

Wall Street will love it.
I'd go $25/mo for that, would be a very reasonable price.

I just used the paid version of ABRP for a long road trip. I bought an ODBC Bluetooth dongle to provide ABRP with the real-time SoC. All of the live features for traffic, weather, SoC... it was so nice to see the projected SoC at my next destination on the CarPly integrated map. It was perfectly accurate every time. Now if they could only integrate with PlugShare, that would be ideal!
Since I have Android, I don't use CarPlay. Therefore, this benefit I wouldn't see.

My point was that there is no reason to pay for ABRP to try it. Traffic and weather are a) in Ford's Navigation and b) in GoogleMaps.

SOC can be put into ABRP, and adjusted while you drive quite easily.

Do you think it would be possible to add bluecruise to the models that don't have it? I know they've done it for the ICE trucks, but I know it also had some issues

It would be cost prohibitive, if possible. And, since it's a subscription, no.

No. They are missing all the eye tracking hardware.

Well yeah, but it can be added. I'm more wondering if Ford would be ok with it being added in; as I understand the ones that did it with their ICE trucks didn't really have a system that was updated by Ford in the same way, so I think it stopped working when Ford did an update.

At least then I'd feel like I was getting something for my money.

I hope Ford will be good with payments clearing on the 15th try ... or, maybe tie payments to whenever software updates are successful.

I don't use BlueCruise now at "free" because it can't keep my truck in the center of the lane. I would consider $20, maybe $25, per month for the bundle if BlueCruise worked safely.

For sure! For general planning, the free version is excellent, and you also have a 2-week trial with all the integrated features, which I found very helpful on my road trip.

But for the actual driving experience, I can't drive and monitor Google Maps, plus Ford navigation, plus charger network planning, state of charge, turn-by-turn directions with traffic... this is where the paid ABRP really helps. And with the ODBC connection, I really appreciate that ABRP incorporates my real-time SoC if I need to make a change while driving. Not to mention my biggest complaint with using navigation with CarPlay, is that you don't get any projected SoC for arrival. You only get that with built-in Ford navigation, which I never use. With the real-time integration with ABRP, I get the best of everything -- turn-by-turn directions (both on the main screen plus on the console screen by the steering wheel), I get the current and projected SoC within the map, and I can see charger information (although it would be even better if it could integrate PlugShare too).

ABRP is great for planning, setting up your SoC preferences, etc... for me I also want to see the real-time SoC versus the projected arrival SoC, so I can ensure the plan is working. I use Apple Maps a lot for navigation around town, it doesn't show any SoC info on the map. While it's not critical to see the SoC inside the map itself, I did like to see that info when n I tried using Ford Navigation with the "calm" screen. I just don't like the Ford Navigation map, so I always had to make a trade off -- using Ford Navigation to get the SoC info and not have the experience I want... or have the experience I want but not have the SoC info. This is why it was an unexpected benefit to get both with ABRP on my road trip.

Considering that’s that the hotspot alone costs, fat chance. I think you’ve nailed the value though. I won’t pay for the current blue cruise or connected services at any price. But I’d not complain if they were a free add on to the hotspot.

When BC 1.3 is released, you will love it.

My MME has BC 1.2 and I love it - does not ping pong within the lane, moves over for large trucks and vehicles that come into my lane plus has intelligent lane change assist while hands free.

I wish they would put it on all trims of the lightning like they do the Mach-e. However I read this to mean that every lariat and higher trim will come with it standard and you get a 90 day trial, or pay $2100 for 3 years.

Maybe they will put it on all trims, but seeing as how you can't even get adaptive cruise on the pro, I doubt it.
