Location of Garage Door Opener?

So the 2024s dropped the park assist tech I’m assuming because it’s too slow to be useful (in my experience) and sufficient improvements never materialized.

However Ford is touting that Level 3 autonomous driving is going to be here in 2026? Doesn’t seem like we are going in the right direction in terms of vehicle spatial awareness capability.

I remember Ford saying in an article that Park assist was rarely utilized across the fleet so theyre canning it. Apparently save $60 a car

HomeLink is easily added to visors IF you have the lit vanity mirrors. If you don't, you have to run power to the visor, or add HomeLink to the overhead console.

Here's a post where someone added it to their overhead console over on the ICE forum. Looks like Amazon sells the model they used for $140.

If you have the lit mirror, adding it to the visor would cost $30 or less. I've done it on 3 Fords over the years.

Could care less about park assist but Ford should be ashamed of not having Homelink on an 80k truck. Just sad. They're probably working on a subscription service to open your garage or mid-year they will add the digital camera mirror with Homelink and tack on $500 to the MSRP.

A review mirror with homelink is another option, but I would opt for the one @RickLightning suggested first. Seems like better value.

Onboard Scales is a great feature. It tells me I'm overloaded and then I then I do nothing about it

Plastic seats? Hey, when I was in grade school the seats were wooden. As was the pointer stick that the nuns used when you didn't get an answer correct.

Have it in my 2018 Volvo and 2022 Lightning. Tried it at the Volvo dealer when the car was brand new and decided never again. Too nerve racking for me.

I agree. I have Active Park Assist in my May 22 Lariat, but I have never -- and will never -- tried it.

There should be an RFID solution to this by now that would be cheaper, but I guess a physical button has its uses. Of course you can always just buy or use the one that comes with the opener for much less $$.

The nuns at my school used either the wooden side-edge or the metal side edge of the ruler over our knuckles, depending on the severity of our "infractions".
