Yes. THey are named differently on the Tesla app. "Supercharger Open To Others - Adapter included for other EV's"
Interesting...on the Ford Pass app it still showed "adapter required"

It's unreliable. Use the Tesla app for correct information.

I just finally got my adapter in the mail and I thought I was golden until I watched this video 😩. I received the smaller Tesla made adapter so how do I know that it’s safe to use? I thought those were recalled?

Only a small batch of part number 1434343-00-D was recalled. If you just got the Tesla-made adapter, and it's not that part number, then you're good to go.

I ran into one in Elmira Ny and in wasn’t’t well marked, I couldn’t get the adapter out and just used my A2Z adapter, I pushed up but it still didn’t come out, what was I doing wrong?
A lot of stations have the magic docks but very few of them are enabled. The Elmira site is a V4 but only open to “NACS Partners” with their own adapters.

Check the ford app or tesla app for supercharger location for your lightning. Not all Superchargers have been updated to allow Fords to charge. I found out the hard way. In tesla app, once you input your vehicle it will auto filter locations for lightning. If you compare the tesla supercharger locations on google maps to what is on your tesla app then you'll see less supercharger available. I talked to a buddy at Tesla and the superchargers need a mod to take the 250kw down to 140 for the lightning.

For clarity and precision of terms, the "charger" is always inside the truck, or any EV.

It demands and regulates electrical input from the "charging supply equipment" or as I call them, the "charging spigot" what that in turn happens to be a DC or AC supply spigot.

Thanks. Where did you purchase the A2Z?
Over 100,000 backorder on the free adapter offer that ended months ago.

Options are the Lectron adapter or the A2Z adapter.

Ford is using Tesla and Lectron, although their Lectron adapter is a different design than the one you can buy from Lectron. https://bit.ly/4dC9jPj

I just got the Ford Lectron adapter but have not yet used it.

A2ZEV makes the Typhoon Pro adapter for Tesla SuperChargers. They also sell the Stellar adapter, which is for Tesla Destination chargers (such as hotels, private homes). I have both adapters and have used both many times. They work great. https://a2zevshop.com/products/nacs-ccs1?ref=Typhoon&variant=43186507579592

I'm not sure that definition clarifies, not when we are pulling up to a supercharger or destination charger (or home charger) to replenish the trons in our batteries. The none of those is inside my truck. I think you make a good point about operationally defining terms, but when the suppliers are calling their equipment "chargers" it undercuts your definition.

I have the Lectron one, but at a recent stop I found that some of the newer fast Tesla chargers (250 KW) have built-in adapters. It's not obvious - you have to push the connector up into the charger to release it.
I could not get the built in Tesla adapter to release when we were at a Supercharger with our Mach-E but my wife released it quite easily. Maybe too much gorilla power? I probably need to watch some YouTubes or something.

With regards to the free adapter question, we are in the free club with the Mach-E but not with the Lighning. But I think one is enough, we'll never be on a road trip with separate vehicles at any one time.

It is not my definition. Let's clarify our terms.

When we look deeply into our trucks' equipment sheets, one item = "charger". On my 2023 XLT ER's sheet it lists "2 chargers".

The industry' association's agreed term for over a decade now has been "electric vehicle supply equipment" no matter whether it is portable or fixed, or its acronym "EVSE" which is a clumsy acronym that not many of us use. Bolding is mine for emphasis.

Many charging supply equipment makers call their stuff "charging stations" which is a bit better but actually is an ambiguous term. Let's think what a "gas station" means... is it a place with a postal address, or the actual mechanical gas pump?

Certain corporations use the word "charger" as an inaccurate yet easy-to-use marketing term... i.e. "[Tesla] supercharger".

I personally choose to use "charging spigot" instead of "EVSE" because I find the mental image it evokes is more accurate and easily understood by my family and friends.

Words have meanings. The "charger" i.e. the regulating and the energy-demanding mechanism for charging every EV, is located inside the car in every modern EV. For reliable, safe and functional operation of EV charging across all the voltage and amperage variations out there, it pretty much has to be that way.

Now, we will all agree that the sun will rise in the East tomorrow morning no matter what words we choose to use... so in colloquial language this doesn't really matter that much. Yet since new EV owners / members often do join this forum, I hope this term's clarification will be occasionally useful.
