Interesting, I always lock on the door. I wish it had lock on walk away like the Mach-e!
I had to go find it - p 102 of the manual:
ARMING THE ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM
The alarm is ready to arm when your vehicle is switched off.
Lock your vehicle with your remote control to arm the alarm.

I believed you, but that is just stupid!

Yep- no problem, needed to find it again for myself too. They don't specifically say it doesn't arm with the button in the truck, but they call out arming it is done from the remote. So that is my interpretation.

Hmm. Seems worthy of a test sometime when I won't upset the neighbors!

Open driver's window.
Hit door lock button, exit truck.
Wait 1 minute.
Stick hand in window, if motion sensor goes off, you have your answer.

If vehicle doesn't have motion sensor, reach in and open the door from the inside. Same result - if alarm goes off, you have your answer.

I did this on my Mach-E, verifying that the alarm arms even with the door lock button.

Know it’s slightly different but I did find a setting so the truck doesn’t beep when I lock it. Seems odd we can turn that beep off but not the frunk

The frunk beep is a safety/cover fords ass feature just like the numerous redundant pinch sensors on the frunk. The double honk on EV is not required. Not sure if you can disable on Newer ICE vehicles via the screen but on my 19 had to be done in forscan. Due to someone leaving their car running in a garage and CO poisoning.then suing the manufacturer because they were too stupid to turn their car off.

A quieter beep on closure (down), only, would be much appreciated. You can manually adjust opening height, that should eliminate most people's need for a beep on the way up.

...but now I'm just getting picky 😉

Haha yes picky. Why wouldn’t you want to warn all your neighbors on your block or everyone in the parking lot that “hey I got an electric truck with a frunk!”
