2009 F150 XLT / 2023 Ford Lightning Pro
I literally just had a stuck coolant valve replaced this week under warranty. Many are going bad and it’s a known issue. I really don’t think dropping the battery is true!!! They replaced mine in an hour! I dont think they even took the frunk tub out, maybe they did…you can see the part they replaced when you open the 12v battery door!

Frunk tub removal is pretty easy took maybe five minutes by myself!

No your description was great! I will say I bought the warranty for my 22 Platinum a few weeks ago... Just needed a US address. Looking online it seems many others have had success as well, I guess if it doesn't work I can always request a refund, which they do.
Yes that will work, as long as it's not Florida or California. We spend time at my Brother in Laws house in NC in the heat of the summer. We looked into using that address to get a ESP.

would anyone to do the remote code reading for free?
The codes are sent to the Ford servers. All the service person has to do is look it up online. Any competent dealer can do it, if they're smart they won't charge a fee.

As far as the valve, where is it located? I don't recall anything in the battery box except batteries. A previous poster says it's near the 12v and is easy to change.

Take off slide door in Frunk for 12v access. Stick head and flashlight in and look to the right. It will be there.
With battery out of the way you may be able to do job, but removing Frunk tub is obviously the correct way to have the room to work.

On a side note, not sure why anybody would pay Ford dealer to read a code when ForScan is free to read codes, and something like $20 a year to be able to do more invasive procedures.

Now, doing the work, with disconnecting the coolant lines and maybe purging air, etc it’s understandable if you want dealer to do.

#17 is diverter valve to radiator and #24 is also a diverter valve, this one might be buried under what used to be the transmission hump area.

Update:
I asked the dealer to move forward yesterday, and today they dropped the battery and found HV pack has some coolant leak
They will continue the investigation on Monday to see the source of leak, and I will get the forum members updated

I might check with either Mike or ragu(?) to see if they can assist to pull it from Ford Server

Sadly I just lent out my mongoose to fix his Escape and now I don't have cable to do diag myself

They will continue the investigation on Monday to see the source of leak, and I will get the forum members updated

If there is indeed a leak in the battery pack, you might get some of the repair done under the 8/100 warranty. Ie., pulling the battery and replacing the fluid at a minimum.

Just a thought from an uneducated novice.
