Your list would have a Lariat priced above the $74k to get the rebate. Max tow has already indicated it will not be available on Platinum as the 22 inch wheels make it such that the towing capability would be reduced. Overall there needs to be a Lariat package with the extended range battery and maximum tow package that is under $74k as that is a configuration that many would want.

I think with the $74k cap the Platinum and really any $75k trim/option is going to be a hard sell for Ford. Lets say you can justify with options a $80k truck, that is going to be a $6k difference in options for Ford but a $18k swing in a person's spend w/o the tax credit?

There isn't much on the options list for a Lariat vs Platinum. ER battery, power running boards, phone as key, BlueCruise, Tow Tech, Max tow. Does the Platinum seats, sound system, and wheels impact the cost that much?

bluecruise should be a 'unlockable' feature and I'd guess phone as key could be too. That leaves them squeezing a Lariat ER under $74k with fitting tow tech package (how much is this on the standard F150 right now?) and max tow probably will be cut out. ER Pro was quoted as a $10k upgrade from the standard Pro so they have to get creative with their pricing structure. Taking out the 80A charger from the package might give more wiggle room as some have suggested.

If it means my truck gets the tax credit or not I'll buy as much of this stuff after purchase in the Ford Parts catalog.

Calling people with 12K in liability rich is offensive . We prefer the highly taxed. 12.5K in taxes is only 90K if married and 120K if single. In NJ that would be considered poor. Certainly too poor to afford a new 50K+ car. With 90K income as a single your take home is 60K. Rent would easily be 24K that doesnt leave much to eat. I dont want to turn this political but rebates/refunds that cut off at certain income levels have different effects for those that have high income only because they live in a high cost area.

Cry me a river. You know what is more offensive? Giving someone who makes $100k a HUGE credit while giving someone who makes $50k much, much less of a credit for doing the exact same thing.

I live in NYS, I get it.

But IF the whole point is to get regular people in EVs.....there is a huge swath of this country that comes no where near $12.5 liability and those people would lose out. Again this only matters IF the credit were non-refundable, every indication I've seen is that it WILL BE refundable so the full credit will be available to everyone...not just those making over $100k.

I think you need to check your math on deductions and such. From what I could figure out, 140k married filing jointly and with one child gets you to 13k tax liability. That's before reduction from healthcare or other pre tax deductions.

You and me both, but I could leave off the max tow as well.

Ford could also go another way with this and leave the ER Lariat above the cutoff but open the options way up for the XLT.

Agreed - I am in a very expensive area of California (Los Angeles) and we make over $150K but can't afford a first time home in Los Angeles or Orange counties where median prices are over $1 Million. Incomes need to be over $200K!

So we are left with NO choice but to search for homes in less desirable (more drive time) Riverside and San Bernardino counties....

That's why I am looking at the EV for my daily commute.
I'd be happy with a base Pro as long as I get the DMV HOV carpool exemption sticker!

Yup, that's the way to go Riverside County with an EV for commute. When I was Active Duty I would commute all the way down to Oxnard!

I would also question how the 80amp charger will be included. If it's within the price of the vehicle does that mean we can't get the EVSE install credit (max $1k)?

I don't think it gets there without some adjustments. Original pricing in June stated:
Base Lariat $67,474
Extended Range $7,000
Tow Tech $1,495
Max Trailer $865

That hits right at $76,834

ER was shown at $10k on the Pro and $7k on all the others by itself.

The 80A charger has to be in the $1500-2000 ballpark. A standard 50A charger typically running in the $600-900 range made by a respectable manufacturer, which does not have two way control and a transfer switch built into it. Splitting that out into a dealer accessory gets you close to under $74k. There should be a package for the extended range, tow tech and max trailer combined as most buyers will get them together.

I think breaking out the EVSE charger is the way to go, so we can also get the EVSE install credit, but there's a lot of wiggle room if the Tow Tech and Max Trailer packages can be added on (or activated) after the sale.

Tow package will increase your towing capacity. From 5000 to 7500 with the SR and from 7500 to 10000 with the ER. I don't think you are going to be able to add on the additional motor and battery cooling after manufacturing.
If you don't need the extra capacity. The truck will have a class 4 receiver and a 7pin plug standard

I hope that Max Trailer $865 option isn't just Ford switching from a 3 row radiator to a 4 row for the added cooling. Either way I am getting it because it meets my payload requirements.

I was specifically looking for valid dates, but got lost in there(on which section was which).

The way I read it..the credit would be valid for vehicles purchased after Dec 31, 2021 (i.e. next year) but the point of sale part isn't valid until Jan 1, 2023.

So for purchases in 2022..would you just have to claim on your tax return and get a HUGE refund?

I don't plan on actually purchasing until the end of 2023 (I told the dealer this), so this is good I will be able to receive that point of sale credit.
