so the airport parking lot valet probably thought they were doing me a solid by plugging in my Lightning after I dropped it off this morning….

despite me asking them specifically not to charge it….

so to my Surprise the Ford app just alerted me to having achieved a 100% charge.

And I won’t be driving for quite a while now.

I certainly don’t want to ask them to take it out for a Ferris Bueller ride around town to burn off some energy…

How much damage is this causing?

Do I need to hatch a plan to have someone in the family spring it out of the lot, or just leave it be and not worry about it ?

best intentions I’m sure,
but ugh……not what I wanted to discover from 40,000 feet up

How long are you going to be gone? My gut tells me it'll probably be okay if it'll be just a few days, and we know 100% isn't actually 100%. Was the charging free?

Nothing you can do about it now (obviously), but next time, set a one-time charge limit before you turn it over to them.

This one-off occurrence won’t measurably affect your battery. I know people who charge to 100% every time.

I'm one of those people and I do it 5 days a week because I use at least 70% of my battery every day(commute and subsequent errands). I don't charge it on weekends so there is that :)

Agree with the above advice, but if you're really concerned, just remote start the truck, let her run for a 15-30 minutes, should drop it a few %%SOC

YOLO! There's an eight year warranty. Let Ford worry about it.

One time charge limit will reset if it's driven, won't it?

When the OP returns, I would save the location of the charge. When leaving it in the future, he will have a set charge limit for that location.

I wasn’t aware driving would reset the one-time limit. I don’t think it says that in the manual. I need to test that out.

Now that he’s charged there, using the location setting is probably the best solution.

You should be ok especially if the temperature is not too high where the vehicle is.

You'll be fine. This 100% fear is overblown. Just remote start a few times to drain the battery a little if you are super concerned.

In Darren Palmer's (Ford EV Division VP) interview with Tom Moloughney's State of Charge a while back, Palmer stated that the Ford warranty of having at least 70% charge after 8 years or 100,000 miles was based on supposing that folks might charge to 100% every day with a level 2 charger, IIRC, (but not spend the whole day at 100% charge). So being at 100% charge for a week or two is probably just a small ding, not a big dent.
