Thanks for the response from everybody. I’ll just keep driving and hopefully I’ll get it soon. Does it require the vehicle not to be driven while it’s updating or is it one that just happened background?

This update is an "undrivable" one, just like the DC Fast Charging and distance to empty ones.

I made sure my truck is connected to my home WiFi and
Automatic Updates: On

Recurring Schedule: Sun at hours Mon at hours Tue at hours Wed at hours Thu at hours Fri at hours Sat at 02:00 am.

Also I set the truck to precondition for departure every morning at 06:00 am. That way it wakes up and resets itself. Will let me know of any changes or updates first thing.

just wondering, I still haven’t received the update, but I’ve noticed my connected services icon Is not on some days doesn’t even come on other times when the truck has been turned off and back on after a bit it appears but when it’s not there when I go into the menu it won’t let me open that tab so I’m wondering am I still going to be getting the updates the pass app still works, so I’m assuming the truck is communicating with Ford.

an R1T dude was stranded in the middle of his vacation and had to be towed a long distance because truck wouldn’t move due to truck thinking Frunk is not closed. And Rivian service centers are often not too close. At least we can move it at 35 mph.
Yet, the truck allows you to drive with the door open. I had a failed door latch and Rivian's roadside recommendation was to hold the door while I drove carefully home.

The corrupt “Connected features” menu is being reported by several of us. For me, a Sync reset brought it back (for one key cycle only) and now it’s gone again. I think we’ll need a software fix.

All of my connected stuff still worked except connected nav features. When I got the menu back, I I switch all connected services off and back on again which fixed my problem. I hope it all keeps working until they fix the menu!

with modern cars it is all about fooling the sensors.

That is how my brother used to drive his hi mileage Honda civic. That is until he discovered he could duct tape the door and use the window to get in and out. His muffler was completely gone. Once at the red light, he challenged a lifted Red neck Raptor and the dude couldn’t figure out which car the manly sound was coming from. The beauty of that Civic was it didn’t cost $80K.

That said, smiling when I see a Rivian on the road still has not worn off. I am sure you enjoyed it despite the troubles. It felt like a quality solid truck when I sat in it.

Value, timing, larger interior and Frunk, lighter, higher payload, less complicated suspension, party proven design with available aftermarket accessories and acceptable/almost non existent phantom drain pushed me toward Pro. That said I was getting serious about pulling the trigger on Rivian especially after they backed down and offered me the original price. So far, I am glad I didn’t especially if supercharger network opens up.

None of these trucks are perfect. Your opinion with regards to this comparison is much more valid than mine. Do still have both? What is your current state of mind comparing Pro with R1T?

NACS will be irrelevant. They are following in the footsteps of Ford (adapter/full switch)

I sold both my Pro and the R1T after about 10,000 miles on each. I now have a Lariat ER with about 12,000 miles on it….I probably should’ve started a YouTube channel.

Your view is 100% correct, each truck has a flaw and a list of pros and cons. The “perfect” truck is dependent on how you use it. The value component is also point in time so for me value in order of best to least was (Pro > R1T > Lariat).

That said, it really depended on what you’re using it for. The Pro was fantastically perfect as a local truck. The R1T was amazing as a work truck - surprisingly and a solo road tripper, the Lariat makes towing and family road trips a breeze.

I can probably list very specific situations where I’d actively choose one over the other just because it made life easier. I’m the end though, as weird as it sounds m I preferred having a dealer that was 10min away that can service my truck in the next week vs 3.5hrs each way and a month long wait for mobile service. That’s as the tipping point.
